HHI question

We will be heading to HH in July and bringing our kayaks. It Broad Creek pretty much "enter at your own risk" with personal kayaks? Are there restricted areas?

There are some restricted areas (like Shelter Cove Harbour), but you can launch at the west end of the resort near Building 31. If you have a 2BR, I'd even request bldg 31 since there is a nice parking area right next to the building and the launch area.

Thanks! We found a company that rents stand up padleboards for the week. Thinking about that as well. We will have a 2 bedroom with 5-7 people. Do you know if kayaks/SUPs are allowed in the ocean (on calm flat days of course )

Outside Hilton Head is located directly across from the resort right on the Harbour and they have a ton of kayaks and paddleboards available for rent. Another nearby provider is Hilton Head Outfitters located across from the tennis center on the way to the beach (about 3/4 mile from the resort). There are also others, but these two are the closest.

While I have not tried kayaking in the open ocean, I have seen many do it - in the summer they offer rentals from the lifeguards right on the beach.

We had 10 of is go kayaking in August. We did the tour from the resort and we booked it the day we came and did it on a Saturday. Think change over day. It was nearly. 2 hours and you can look at the villa and see kayakers and paddle boaters all day long. We did see several dolphins and they did tell us a lot of history about the island.
