HHI May Chances

New DVC member here. We are looking to book a studio at HHI for either May 10-15th or May 17-22nd with the 17-22nd being preferred. What are our chances if we book at exactly the 7 month mark?

Day one 7 months out your chances should be very good though your chances would be much better for a 2 BR. May is a fairly low time for HH. You might also consider an exchange where you could potentially get a 1 BR for not many more points than a studio at DVC and be closer to the beach and more of the action. Of course you'd then have the exchange fee. At least it gives you an option.

Good luck. We are hoping for a one bedroom at HHI from June 7-11. We will be checking at 8 am at the seven month mark!

Surprisingly, the CMs there told me that the 2 BRs are very popular since HHI tends to attract families. I was there once when they told someone that they didn't have any 2 BR availability, but they did for 1 BRs. Usually, they said, 1 BRs are the last to fill up. Families go for the two BRs, and a couple, either pre-child or empty-nesters, are more likely to take studios. I guess we're really in the minority-I LOVE the 1 BRs there.

I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to book a studio for the Sat and Sun nights of Memorial Day weekend yesterday. Ideally would have liked Fri night too (it was unavailable), but we may just go to Savannah that night. This will be our first time to both Hilton Head and the resort - looking forward to it!

We do as well. We booked a 1BR at 7 months out for May 17th to 22nd on day 1 with no issues. Really happy they can now sleep 5 in a 1BR with sofa bed and fold out chair.

This is our absolute favorite DVC resort. We alternate years between here and WDW. Our kids are on year round school so we typically do the shoulder season. We had been going in October, so it will be interesting to see the island in May.
