HHI in the Summer - How Likely at 7 Months

We do not own at HHI but want to try and stay there next summer. Due to schools here we can only go anytime from June 25th - Sept 1st. We really do not care when. When do you think would be the most likely to have room for us at the 7 month mark? Or will I be calling daily with fingers crossed for 2 months? Or should I not bother because it is highly unlikely?

Your chances are better if you want a 2 bedroom, but some people here have declared success even for a studio, and there are only 21 (?) of them and the same number of 1 bedrooms. There are more people who say they bought at HHI to insure summer vacations there, and we are one such family, than there are people who say " we get in every time we want to go!"

I tried for a two bedroom for spring break, the week before Easter for this year, exactly at 7 months, and the wait list never came through, so we bought, and we're going over the next 4 th of July!

We got a studio at 7 months out for a July visit.

It's absolutely a possibility, I would give it a try.

Since you are so flexible with the dates you should have a good chance. I'm trying for early June at he 7th month point. Keep you fingers crossed

We are thinking of buying points at HHI so we can get in at 11 months prior. I think HHI is very popular over summer (even with the heat) and I love that DH could play golf, go to the beach, swim in the pool, and then head to WDW for a few days for a summer vacation.

Last year, my friend was able to book three 2 bedrooms for a week in late june at 7 months.

I was also able to get one studio towards the end of July. Unfortunately, we had to cancel so I'm sure somebody who was waitlisted was happy!

We added on at HHI in 2002 and 2010 just for 11 month window for summer months. We have been able to get 3 nights in august at 7 months(we changed plans and so thats why we were late making reservations). Its easier if you want 2bedroom(more of these) and if you stay fri/sat as they take huge number of points(we always do sun-thurs). We have gone 1st week in June for last 5 years, but were there for July 4th this year. We did make those at 11 months. I think if you are flexible for the summer dates and if you don't want 1bdroom, you could be lucky..

Thank you all! We are planning a 2 bedroom so sounds like we might have a chance. We did debate a long time about adding on at HHI for this reason but ended up deciding against it.

We booked at 7 months for a 2BR for the last few days of June/first couple days of July for our 2010 vacation. We were waitlisted for one day! Now mid summer/early August I think might be more difficult. We also booked the third week of September in 2008 with no problem. I really think about selling our 100 pt. contract at a WDW resort and purchasing HH points-we'd still have 200 points at BCV for our WDW vacations but I'd love having an 11 month window for HH.

We're at HHI right now in a studio and booked at 7 mos. It is definitely possible, but maybe a little luck would be helpful as well.

and the resort has a limited # of rooms: I disagree with some--we tried for years to secure a summer stay there @ 7 months and NEVER got one (so we bought an add-on points there) My advice for 100% chance @ booking there: buy small HHI contract, or rent points from someone who has HHI as home resort and can book summers 11 months out. I think the sponser of this board is one.

I did a cash reservation at 6 months and then added 2 nights of points. We leave Tuesday!
