HHI in June/July?

I'm thinking about trying for 4 nights at HHI from June 29 to July 3. What do you all think my chances are of getting a studio? I know I'll be on the waitlist for a while, but do you think I'll actually get off of it?

Also, do you think driving 12 hours to get there is crazy for only being there 4 days? I don't know if the stress of driving would cancel out the rest we'd get while there. Any comments?

You would normally have a pretty good chance of getting your studio for the Friday and Saturday nights. Since the weekend points at HH are quite high, the resort often empties out on Friday mornings and fills up again on Sunday afternoon. Last year, we were able to get a studio in late July with less than two weeks' notice.

However, since the 4th of July is on Sunday this year, I have a feeling that weekend might not empty out as it usually does. And since there are relatively few studios...

All you can do is try! If you can get the Friday and Saturday, and waitlist for Wednesday and Thursday, I would say go for it! But I would have a backup plan in mind.

I definitely think HH is worth the drive, but remembering that it's a holiday weekend, traffic will likely be heavier than usual.
