I am thinking about booking HHI studio for a one night stay on our drive to WDW in September. We (DH & I) probably wouldn't get there until about 6 and then leave the next day around 11. I just don't know if it would be worth the points for one night...and it would be Saturday points to boot! I really would like to check the resort out but never seem to get there. I know this is really up to me but has anyone else stayed for one night? Was it worth it or did you regret using the points?

I love HHI but one night would not be enough for us. Plus the fact it would cost you more points because of it being a Saturday not...then I would say definitely not worth it.

That is just my opinion but you asked for it!!!! ;)

We are going to disney in Jan and thought about trying to get a room for one night also, which is a week day, but it is NYE's. I don't know if it is possible, but I decided that it probably is not worth it, since we would be getting up early to leave for Disney the next day.

Just remember that it's not "exactly" on the way. It's probably a good hour each way to and from the interstate.... And in the summer that can be longer.

We do this often on our drives to/from WDW, more often heading home because we can arrive on HHI early from WDW. I'd say yes if you arrive earlier in the day so you'd have time to walk the beach, do some scouting around on the island etc. I don't know if I'd go for the points for Saturday night - check out the cash rate because sometimes it makes more sense to pay oop instead of huge chunk of points. Or try bidding Resort Level on HHI on Priceline; if your bid is accepted you'll get either Westin Resort, Marriott Beach Resort, Hilton Resort or Crowne Plaza - all are oceanfront resorts and nice places (you can research bid histories at bidding for travel on the net - iirc in September you can possibly get around $75 accepted, we've even gotten accepted as low as $55 in March - - amazing savings :)!! ). And if you do stay at another resort you can always take a drive over to checkout DVC-HHI resort; I don't know if they'd let you visit the beach house but it doesn't hurt to ask, you need keycard to access it but maybe they'd give you a visitor pass to have a look around if you have your DVC membership card.

Just fyi HHI is approximately 340 miles from WDW, 5 to 6 hour drive - about 65 miles travelled on I4 from WDW to I95, then about 240 miles on I95 and then about 35 miles on US 278 from I95 onto HHI.

HHI is a great place to kick back & relax :thumbsup2 even if just for a day or two. Hope you get to check it out, have a great time :goodvibes
