HHI Day trip help...

Hi, we will be visiting HHI next week we want to do a few day trips
We will be heading to Charleston SC, Beautfot SC area but we would love to head west one day...any ideas?? We love to visit local winiers, sights, cute towns for shopping and of course good food.. Thanks

I'm not sure there is much west worth visiting within a day trip. Greenville would fit the bill, but is too far. Columbia and Aiken are decent but not worth the long drive, IMO. There are some worthwhile natural areas not too far west of HH, but that is not what you asked about. Savannah is very nice, but similar to Charleston and obviously not west.

I don't know too much about further west but we went in early Nov. and we fully explored Charleston, Beaufort, Bluffton and Savannah. All excellent. Tough choice but Charleston was favorite. Make sure you save enough time for these places. We will be back for sure.

I live in Clemson and if you like little college towns, come on up! To be honest, though, I don't think I'd probably drive up here for a day unless I had a kid who wanted to do a college visit. The drive can be up to five hours. Greenville is a lovely town, but also quite a hike from the coast.
