HHI at Christmas

Has anyone gone to HHI over Christmas Break? Are there many things to do at the resort and surrounding area? What was the weather like? Thanks

Has anyone gone to HHI over Christmas Break? Are there many things to do at the resort and surrounding area? What was the weather like? Thanks

We have been a there during xmas week a couple of times for the week, but many times for a night stop on the qay back from wdw to Boston. There are many activities at the resort for adults and kids. We attended at live nativity on xmas eve on year at Sea Pines and it was great. Weather can be everywhere. 60 with DH swimming in the heated pools to 30 degrees with hat and gloves to walk the beach. We do not plan for any outdoor swimming but you can certainly golf, boat, kayak, enjoy the nature tours, dolphin tours(we have even seen dolphins from our porch entering shelter cove harbor area) and on occasion, swim in the heated pool. Santa does visit and there are stories and cookies at the resort; crafts, marsh tours, kids crafts, kids/teens night out, campfires, group beach games(weather permitting) and many others. There has been a kids NYE party in the past when DS was younger(he is now 20).The restaurants and shops are open but some close after Jan1st for vacations, etc. We really love it at that time of year, but just like december at wdw, we never can plan for the weather. We will be there for 2 nights 12/30-1/1/11 this year after 4 nights at AKLV.
