Hi everyone - we are heading to HHI for part of the Memorial Day weekend. This was a very last minute plan and we were fortunate enough to snag a studio (cash not points) for 2 nights for an impromptu getaway.

Can you tell me if the resort activites will be in full swing for this weekend?

Will they have bon fire, fireworks, etc?

We are so excited for this mini-vacation and would love to hear about anything that happens over a holiday weekend at the resort.

Thanks so much!!

I don't think the Shelter Cove fireworks start until the first Tuesday in June. I am sure the resort will have the campfire and I am pretty sure they celebrate Memorial Day also.

global_mom, look for us there! We will also be there Saturday and Sunday nights.

For once, I really don't care about ANY activities -- after the past two weeks at work, I just want to SIT. I don't care if it's on my porch with my morning coffee and the Island Packet, by the pool, or on the beach... :cloud9:

We will just miss you as we will arrive on Monday morning. The kids are dying to do every activity so I dont see much rest in my future! Have a fun time!!

Anyway to scan in that Island Packet? I would love to see one!!:goodvibes Unless of course its a newspaper or something like that. I am dying to try HHI!

The Island Packet is the local newspaper. Up until about a year ago, it was 25 cents per issue M-Sa and $1.00 on Sunday. Now it's a whopping 50 cents M-Sa and $1.50 on Sunday. I just love that newspaper. It's not hokey like some local papers and I read it practically cover-to-cover; something I'd never do with the newspapers around here.

You can check it out at www.islandpacket.com.

Who knows, maybe it's just the relaxed HH atmosphere that makes me like it so much, but I always make sure we have lots of quarters for the newspaper machine when we go there! :goodvibes
