Forgive me if this has been asked before or if it's considered a dumb question.

We will be visiting HHI in May with family but not staying DVC. Can we access any of the amenities at the Beach House because we are DVC members or do we have to actually be staying at DVC in order to walk over and check out/participate in any activities or whatever.

Thanks for any response or help.

yes you will be allowed access to all the amenities that a DVC owner would be. You will not be treated any different. My DH and I went a couple of years ago before we even heard of DVC and were very happy with our experience.

That's great - we will literally be within walking distance of the beach house and I've heard so much about it and wanted to be able to check it out.

Thank you so much!

:)

I'm a little confused...are you staying at the DVC resort as a non-DVC member? If so you are treated as a regular guest.

If you are staying "off-site" at some other condo/house on HH you will not be allowed to use the amenities. You need an active room card to do this. I'm pretty sure this is your question, so sorry to be telling you the bad news.

dis-happy is correct. While you would likely be able to visit the resort itself by asking at the front gate, you won't have access to the Beach House since the entries are all protected by locks activated by room keys. The resort will not usually give permission to visit that facility except to resort guests.

The beach itself is a public beach and anyone may enjoy that area and the Beach House does have a public outdoor shower, restroom facility and even outside access to the snackbar, but you won't be able to get into the actual facility without the room key.

This policy is consistent with all DVC resorts - members don't really have the right to use the pools at any DVC resort unless they are a guest at the resort. Pool hopping is reserved for those with a room key identifying us as "DVC Member"s.

Definitely plan to go to the resort and ask to tour the main property and it can't hurt to ask about visiting the Beach House, but be prepared to be denied access there.

Thanks for that update - I actually thought this was the case but thought I'd ask anyway.

I won't be devastated if we can't do the Beach House but as members, it would have been neat to be able to check it out. I'll definitely go ask to see the resort though!

Thanks again everybody!

Cynthia
