HH & Vero in the winter?

What is it like during the fall/winter months? Are the offerings the same all year long?

What about the temp of the water?

I've obviously never been and would like to go to Vero in September or December and don't really know what to expect.

I would also like a seperate trip to HH but I have no idea when is a good time to go. I don't like it blistering hot but want it warm enough to enjoy the beach and the ocean.

Vero in September will still be pretty warm (hot, some would say). We went in October and were still able to swim in the pool without being too cold. After September, the weather is more iffy, temperature wise.

Actually September would be the perfect time to visit HH as well! It will still be nice and warm, the ocean will be wonderful (as opposed to spring, when it hasn't warmed up yet) and the crowds will be gone. The downside is that the beach hours are shortened and I'm not sure if there will still be lifeguards on duty or not. The activities at the resort will still be offered, but less frequently than before Labor Day. Some of the restaurants/businesses may also be closed, but not too many.

Now, if swimming in the ocean isn't important to you, HH is great just about any time of the year. The pools are heated, and we have seen people enjoying them no matter what the air temps are!

I've been to Vero & HH in October and thought both times were perfect for a beach vacation. We were very lucky with the weather at HH, as I know it is sometimes cooler that time of the year than when we went. The ocean was a bit cool, but certainly doable. Vero was absolutely perfect when we went in October. HTH

Vero is like most parts of Florida in December very iffy. The ocean temp is be cool , but not freezing. The air temps can be anywhere from 50 to 80. Figure 70's for an average high. We spent every Christmas in Florida, Orlando, Vero, Boca, and it is always an adventure temp wise.

F.Y.I....September is glorious on Hilton Head. Still warm, but quiet, most all the tourists are gone then. October is usually beautiful too. December is very iffy, as is January, February, and early March. April is great, but lots of people. May brings super weather without the crowds. June, July and August are hot and sticky and very crowded.......
