We've been at HH since Sunday now and it's been a chilly week, but temps are supposed to return to normal (mid-60s) this weekend - even nearing 70 on Sunday. The resort looks great with a few buildings still getting a fresh coat of paint.

We stopped in at the Mercantile yesterday hoping to see Chef Gordon, but he was hosting a "Cooking with Matilda" class at the time - being given in the GV in Building 28 where he once offered "A Private Affair" , the personalized gourmet dining experience at the resort.

We are not staying at the DVC resort this trip but are right across the harbour. I can see the resort right now from our villa. :)

We've had a fairly quiet week so far with trips to the outlets and a few strolls around the boardwalk here at Shelter Cove.

Tonight we met friends for dinner at the Sea Trawler (it's the large modern, circular structure just on the left as you exit the bridge across the intercoastal waterway when leaving HH). It was closed from Jan. 1 - Feb.12 and is quite nice. Reservations are not required as it has a lot of seating with a wonderful view of the sound and sunset. It just opened last summer and has a nice menu. I had the Blackened Grouper, DW had the crab cakes and our friends had the Swordfish/Shrimp special. All were very good and the Key Lime pie was wonderful for dessert. They also offer an early dining special for $16.99 with a reasonable menu selection for that too.

We plan to dine at the Sea Shack and the Big Bamboo later this coming week.

Enjoy! Had a heat wave in IL today...high 30's...but more snow coming! Looking forward to June at HH.

Enjoy! We leave HH for Chas. tomorrow but the (relatively) warmer temps have been heavenly.....

(keep meaning to try Sea Trawler...after all that guy went through to actually build the place...glad to hear you enjoyed your meal there)

Thanks, Webmaster Doc. Can you tell me any more about this "Cooking with Matilda" class Chef Gordon's doing (or at least did that day)? I've never heard of this, so either it's new or it was a one time thing. Is it a regular thing now? We were lucky enough to experience one of his last "Private Affair" and would love to experience another of Gordon's great cullinary experiences. Thank for the info on the Sea Trawler-I saw it when we were there a few months ago and wondered how it was. Don't forget to please give us a Sea Shack review.
