We have a 1 bedroom for May and was wondering what our odd's are of getting a water/marsh view?? Are 1 bedrooms in certain buildings or spread all over the resort?
If anyone knows, how soon do they make up the activity schedules for may...would like to get it before we go down since I'm a bit of a planner:goodvibes

Hi,

Someone else will know better how many 1 br's there are - I have been to HH about 7 times and have had marsh view maybe 3 times...always request it but haven't had luck the last few trips. I think your best bet is to get there as early as possible. We get there around 4 - 5 and no marsh views are left.

You can call the resort and have the activities list faxed to you about a week ahead of time. I can;t remember which day they put the list out.

May should be great weather - and if it's the last week of May - you might want to go to Charleston for a day for Spoleto Festival. It's an incredible arts festival (theater/dance/opera/jazz from all over the world) that takes over the city for 17 days May-June...I used to live there and reviewed shows and it is really terrific.

Have a great time!

HH has only 21 1BRs (and the same number of Studios) - all are lockoff villas.

Of those, 16 are located in Buildings 11/12 - the Live Oak Lodge where the front desk is found. Those will have either a "Marsh View" or an "Island View" (these "Island Views" also look out towards the marsh).

The other 5 1BRs are each beneath a GV. These are found in bldgs# 16,18,19, 28 and 30 and most have wooded "Island Views" from the balconies.

Here is a link to a full report for the HH resort layout. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=226883

Have a great trip! :)

Thanks for your help!! If anyone wants to know, we will be there from May 3- 9th.

disney1474-I would call HH and request that you be in the lodge. Hopefully that would help when you check in. We have always had a 1bdrm in the lodge when we requested it. Plus, there is an elevator in that building and you can park underneath which is nice. Hope you have a wonderful trip! We will be there in June!

We really liked the location of the 1BR in Bldg 18; however the 1BRs other than the ones in the lodge are located under Grand Villas. We have found that the villas under the Grand Villas tend to be rather noisy. The next time we stay in a 1BR, we'll request the top floor of the lodge or the building next door to hope for a quieter stay. Don't get me wrong, though, we love HH and go whenever we can, but if there are light sleepers in your group, being under the GV's can be rather loud.

Always try for the lodge with a one bedroom reservation.

Coffee in the morning, lemonade and cookies in the afternoon for the kids (ok I've sampled a few myself) and the lodge room complete with a nice pool table. Checkout the view of the marsh as you walk to the pool on the boardwalk, and don't forget to look for the marsh bunnies.

We'll be there at the end of June, can't wait.

We were there last June... WONDERFUL... We had a 1 bdrm in the lodge overlooking the marsh. It was amazing. We saw all kinds of birds and saw dolphins swimming below our baclony feeding on the fish.

I have the daily activity sheets from last June if anyone wants to see them. I need your email address to send them to you. Can't make attachments with PMs.

Do all the 1 bedrooms in the lodge have water views??
Not all of them. I know from experience that 1137 (and probably 1127) doesn't. However, how's this for a water view? When I walked into this 1 BR, I thought I'd won the HHI view lottery (1132).

That is just spectacular- I hope we get that lucky when we're in a 2bdrm Aug 11-15, 2008!

We'll be at HHI May 25-30. What dates are you going?

Seeing this thread is really getting us excited. We can't wait to go!!
