HH on way to WDW

On our upcoming trip we have the opportunity to Stop at HH for one night. We usually stop around Savannah right off of I95. So the extra time driving would be minimal as it would be split on the way.
I have a cash ressie (Disney Visa Discount) for $99 for a 2 br.
It is normally 56 points for a friday night stay.
We would probably get there around 5 pm and leave for WDW (OKW) around 10am or 11am he next day.
Any one out there stop on the way or have done a one nighter there.

The only regret you will have is not making about 3 nights in HHI. I think alot of people do just one night. That rate you have is great. Do you mind sharing the dates of that rate? You will love the resort. It is a nice break. I am glad you don't mind the extra time to get off of I-95. You will be suprised at just how far it is from the interstate.

The dates I received in the mail stated Oct - Dec with the expected Holiday blackouts.
It stated that other fall dates were available and I called and got 9/24 friday. I know that weekends there are not used as often by members because of the point structure.
From my Mapquest calculations and talking to a couple of my fellow DVC neighbors I figure about and extra Hour on the trip but that is split between before the stop and after.
We would not be able to drive straight to WDW as I am working until noon on Friday.
We would probably spend close t that or more for two motel rooms off 95 as there are 8 in out party.

I think you got such a great rate. I am from NC too, and we stop in for a trip to WDW also. We can not drive the whole 10 hours. THe member discount rate for a 2bd in sep was 183.74. I wish I had a Disney Visa to get that 99 rate.

If you get there at 5 you will have pleanty of time to swim. the main pool stays open until 9 or 10. The slide will close at 5 though. A short walk across the bridge will give you some good dinner options. I like San Miguels. You can sit outside and listen to the live music and see all the boats in the harbor. You used to see the sunset, but Shelter Cove built another condo that may block the sunset. There is a Pirate Golf to the right on the main road. it is only 1 block away from the Shelter Cove entrance. You will love the resort . IF you have kids, they will wake up Sat. moring and say "Do we have to go to WDW now."
