We're counting the days until our first trip to HH on 8/28. Can anyone give me any idea about:
1. will it be VERY crowded?
2. will the temps and humidity still be HIGH>
3. will the bugs still be biting?

Thanks!
Larry

I can't speak specifically for HH the end of August, as I haven't been there at that time of year. However, I live in East Tennessee, and just returned from the Charleston islands area last week. The temperatures were a few degrees hotter there than here and it was much more humid. So, I would say that yes, it's still gonna' be pretty hot & humid. It stays hot & humid here throughout most of September. The bugs usually don't go away until sometiem in October. I doubt that it'll be too crowded, though, as most schools in the South start back in early to mid August.

But don't let the negatives bother you. Just slather on sunscreen, keep the bug repellant handy, and have a great time! Oh, and watch out for 'gators!

It will still be hot and humid---but the plus side to that is the lovely warm ocean temp of 85 degrees!

Compared to the madness of July, the island gets very quiet the last two weeks of August. Everything will still be open and there's lots to do, but the traffic is better and the restaurants won't have such long waits.

Bugs--we've had a lot of rain this summer and the mosquitos are noticable--especially in the evening. Bring your bug spray.
