HH in Oct/Nov/Jan???

We're looking to plan another trip..either HH in Oct/Nov or Jan OR WDW for a week in January. We've never been to HH so we're not sure about the weather and activities for kids (3 and 10) there are around that time of year. My kids LOVE to swim. HH is only 1 days drive and we'd like to try it out, but not sure if we should wait another year or so and go in the summer. Would my kids be bored? We're looking to use only around 80 pts or so. So we'd have to go in Oct/Nov or Jan if we went to HH. If we go to OKW in Jan. we could get a 1 bdrm at either BWV or OKW for the same amount of points. Decisions SHould we wait and do HH in the summer in a year or so?

We did HHI in early October and it was great other than it rained several days in the afternoon. It was defintiely warm enought to swim, and I played golf several times. I'd definitely give it a chance. I'm thinking of making a trip next summer, but the seven month window scares me.

I wouldn't go in January, though. It's cold then. I would try late spring/early fall.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions about Jan. I would think Oct. wouls still be OK though. People still wear shorts here in early Nov. but then again we don't have ocean breezes either. We went to Nags Head, NC once or twice in late Oct. and it was pretty unlively and cold. I think we'll either have to go sometime in Oct. or wait and try to go in the summer and do WDW in Dec or Jan. Hmmm Don't know what to do!!!

We've been in early Oct. twice and found the temperatures quite nice. In 05, we had quite a bit of rain while we were there, but we were thankful it wasn't a hurricane or anything like that! The kids would swim, we'd spend time at the beach/beach house and we would bike. It is still a popular time of the year for the island and there were still plenty of activities for the kids. The bar at the beach house won't be open and the counter service place at the beach house will have short hours (closing around 2:00 or 3:00), but other than that, I guess things are pretty much like they are in the summer months.
