HH in March or Oct?

How is HH is middle March or late October regarding weather, activities, swimming, crowds? Thanks.

October would be my choice. The days are still nice and the ocean is warm enough to enjoy a swim. Crowds will be low, but all activities still available.

March is also nice, but daytime temps will range from low 60's to maybe 80. The ocean will be too cool to enjoy a swim. Spring break crowds do bring lots of families to the area at this time.

Both times are fine to visit (January is the only really questionable month- where the temps and weather may not be enjoyable.)

No bad choices at all!

We went last year from March 8-13, and I agree, it was a little too cool for swimming. Practically no one at the Beach House, no one using the beach. But the resort was very busy, and if you like to bike ride or play miniature golf, perfect weather for that.

I agree with above. The 2 times I was there in October, the weather was beautiful. The 2 times I was there in March, the weather was pretty unpredictable.

I was there this year in March (19-24). It rained and was on the cool side 4 out of 5 days. No one on the beach - too cold!- or at the beach house. I would definitely choose October - and hope to someday when I am retired!

I'd say Oct -- last year we drove from OKW up to HH and loved it. It was still quite warm. Plus a few years back we got married at HH in Oct, and it was 2 weeks of Fab weather.
