We are going to HH 12/18 thru 12/22 thanks to the great deal with Disney Visa. Has anyone been there during this timeframe. What can we expect the weather to be and what will there be for DS(20) and DD(17) to do? Where is the best deal for good seafood?:earsboy: Feel free to email me at brobert@cox-internet.com:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We were there Dec 02/Jan 03. We were there the last few days of Dec - first few days of January. We still rented bikes and rode with our jackets on and walked on the beach - although it was too cold for us to be in the water. The resort pool and beach house pools are heated and our kids didn't mind that it was cool outside. It may not be the most desirable time of the year to visit, but we still had a great time and enjoyed it enough to go back the following October and hoping to make it again this year. Our kids are much younger than yours, so I can't really speak to what there is for young adults to do. As far as Seafood, we've had good meals at The Old Oyster Factory and have heard great things about Scott's Fish Market which is within walking distance of the resort. There have been several posts lately about where to eat, so you might try looking back over the past several days or do a search.

I'm a part-time HH resident. We absolutely love it there. December can be nippy, but still nice enough to go out and do things. Bike riding and walking on the beach were already suggested, my favorites. Golf and tennis as well. How about a kayak trip for the kids? Outside Hilton Head has activities that leave from Shelter Cove, next to Disney. There are also trail rides at Lawton Stables, located in Sea Pines Plantation. When you get to HH, grab an activity guide (free, published monthly) to see what special events are going on. You also can't go wrong with a sunset dolphin cruise.

For "cheap" seafood, there is always Captain's Seafood. It is part fish market, part restaurant, very reasonable prices, very fresh. OTOH, they keep jazzing the place up, so the prices have gone up to match, but it's still a good deal. Another route to go: early bird specials. Don't laugh--there are some wonderful meals to be had at fantastic prices---pay about $15. for a 3 course meal at a place that runs $25. per entree an hour later. Check out the restaurants guide (also free) when you get there, for menus and prices. There's also a website called "10Best"---it has never let us down.

HTH and have fun!!!
