I am thinking of taking my familiy to DVC HH in April. My Dad lives nearby but I don't want to inconvenience him. I also want to give my children a fun trip because my Dad and his wife live in a 55+ community that is not terrible receptive to children.

My questions are:

1) Is HH a fun resort for kids?
2) What have your experiences been there?
3) Would you recommend the 1 bedroom or the studio for 2 adults and 2 children?
4) What is HH like in April?

Any help you folks can give would be greatly appreciated!

You have always been so helpful in the past. You guys are great!

:cool2: princess: :3dglasses I hope I can answer some of your questions... You will love HH. It is great for kids, depending on when in April you are going there may not be a lot of activities yet, it isn't in season yet. I would DEFINITELY get a 1 bedroom at least, the studios are way to small for 2 adults and 2 kids, there are 3 of us and it is tight. For someone from Mass the weather will be great for you, us northern transplants think it is a little chilly. It could be as warm as 75* or 80* during the day but lower 60* at night. The beach house is fun, Disney usually has daily activities for the kids, and my son loves Shadow, the resident but elusive, golden retriever.
Hope this helps!:thumbsup2

There are LOTS of activities that time of year. We went the week after Easter last year and saw the program guides for two weeks before and two weeks after--the days were jam packed with activities, though not as much doubling up as in the summer months.

Does your dad live in Sun City? I wouldn't consider it anti-children with so many grandparents living there, but your family will definitely have tons of fun at the DVC (so many things to do it may be hard to find time to go visit your dad!). Studios and 1 b/r's are the hardest to book (fewest of them) so you might want to stay flexible. Have fun!

If you go April School vacation week - 75% of the people are from MA. My 75 yo Dad ran into a another Grandpa he knew from Winchester. It was so funny. They hadn't seen each other since my father moved down the Cape 5 years before - and they run into each other at HHI!!!

The weather is great. There are tons of activities. I remember - Goofy Bingo, campfires, ghost stories, a bunny hunt with Shadow, among others. Looking forward to going back next summer.
