I was wondering if someone could fill me in about what there is for a 10 year old and a 7 year old to do at Hilton Head. Is there enough to keep them occupied? or will they get bored? I could use anyone's thoughts, ideas or experiences. I thought I'd plan a mini-vacation there over the summer but don't want the kids to be disappointed as they are use to disney world. Thanks in advance!!

I guess it depends on the child whether they will be bored, but HH has a wide variety of programs and activities available.

You can choose from canoeing, kayaking, crabbing, gyotaku, fishing, natue walks, Dollphin tours, golf, tennis, pool swimmimg, shelling, ocean swimming, parasailing, horseback riding, kids night out, bowling, miniature golf, campfires and several other activities supervised by the recreation staff at the resort.

If you haven't already reserved at HH, you better make the call, as the summer months do fill up quickly.

Enjoy!

That sounds great!! Now which activities are included with the resort and which do you have to incur a fee for? and if anyone knows, could you give me the prices? Thanks again!!

All of the activities I listed, except parasailing, may be scheduled thru the resort. In addition, you can pick up a local activites schedule at the resort which will offer outside vendors for the same activities. (Some may be at a discount).

Many of these activities will be available without charge. The canoeing, kayaking, dolphin tour, horseback riding activites will be in the $25-45 per person range (I don't have the fee schedule near by). Bikes may be readily rented at the resort. Some of the resort activites are in the $10-15 range (there is usually a discounted rate for DVC members). You will get an activity schedule at check-in showing everything scheduled during your stay. There are adult activities also- cooking, wine tasting, etc. which are all great and at a nominal charge.

You can also call the resort and have a schedule faxed to you in advance. Some activities may require advance reservation.

Enjoy!

My boys were 5 and almost 10 when we went to HH in November. They loved it. They were old enough for all of the kids activities and the weather was warm enough for daily swimming and trips to the beach. There was a great mini golf place very close by with a pirate theme that we had a great time at.

My kids love Disney but keep asking "When are we going to Hilton Head again?"

My nephew who is nine now was seven when he first went to HH. He loved the various little activities there at HH and is very interested in going back and enjoying the things there.
