HH Door Problem

We just got back from a wonderful stay at HH, but have an observation about those heavy doors on the units. The people in the unit below us flipped the security latch over so that they would not have to use the keys to go in and out. I am assuming that they did not realize that each time they went in and out(lots of little kids going in and out all day)the weight of the unit door being allowed to slam against that latch made a loud noise and actually shook our unit ! It was quite annoying, but they were quiet at night, and we were usually gone most of the day. I wouldn't do this for security reasons, but folks, if you do throw the latch for convenience, try not to let those doors just slam. Thanks!!

A couple years ago (pre-DVC) paying cash at VWL, we left the room as the cleaning staff was coming through our floor at about 9:00 am. When we got back that night at 10:30 pm, our door was 'propped' open this way.

We were appalled that it was pretty certain our room was propped open all day long. We talked to the managers, they were appalled too, and refunded us our room price for 2 days.

We didn't lose anything but seriously could have. The managers made it quite clear that this was not acceptable from the cleaning staff and would make certain it didn't happen again.

When we were at HH last summer, we spent an afternoon with the maintenance man there fixing the door and latch for just this reason. Someone before us must have proped the door and we felt with our luck it would fall off if we didn't have it fixed. The maintenance man said this was the first door he had to fix like this. Maybe he had just started with Disney but it sounds like now he has more experience.
