I'd say you are much better of going for HHI on the resale market. There are quite a few of them listed out there and you could probably get one for $70 per point or less (plus closing costs). Even with closing you are still under $80 per point. The only problem is the wait (and lack of easy financing options, if needed).
You can buy points at "sold-out" resorts if they have inventory for your use year. When they exercise their ROFR on resales, they end up selling them back to DVC members. If they don't have any for the resort you want (with that use year), you can get put on a wait list. The going rate is $92 per point thru DVC (no closing costs) and the minimum number to purchase is 25. Good deal for BCV and BWV compared to resale.
We added at HH last October and got the points (June use year) immediately direct through Disney. They still have some inventory in many use years according to the reports on the boards. The same is apparently true for OKW points for many use years. DVC was very aggressive with ROFR over the last 18 months.
