HH--bike rental

We'll be at HH the last week of May and would like recommendations about renting bikes. I remember something about renting off Disney property but don't remember the why's. Any info and suggestions?? Thanks!

We rented off site last November and it was cheaper. I am trying to remember the name of the place but it is across the street and to the right leaving DVC. I will look and see if I can find the name of it. It is in a tiny strip like of a few stores one is a liqour store.

Just curious-what was the cost? I'm wondering how much cheaper it is to rent off-site. We rented bikes a few weeks ago, and it was $25 for the length of our stay (for each bike). That was onsite.

I'd like to know the price, too, and what would be the advantage to rent offsite. Also, do they deliver and pick-up?

We were just at HHI and rented 2 bikes from the resort, and it was $50 for the week.

We rented bikes from Bubba's on our last trip, strictly for alphabetical reasons. There was also a coupon in one of the tourist books that are available everywhere. They delivered the bikes to us, and when we were leaving HHI we just locked them to the bike rack and left. They were pretty decent bikes, too. Unfortunately, I can't remember the price.

Just got back last week.

We rented from Palmetto Bike Barn (gives the same rate the resort does and will deliver them to your room/pick them up). We got 2 adult bikes...one with a baby seat on the back and one had one of those neat tagalong ones where their bike is attached to the parent's. It cost us $63.

dizneeluvr, if the price was the same as the resort, what is the advantage to renting from an offsite company? Is it easier to get what you want? Just wondering.....

Disney didn't have any tagalongs. So we just rented from the bike barn...and used Disney's helmuts free of charge.
