HH Beach

Is the beach at HH only for guests of the resort or is it accessible by the public as well? I read that the parking is shared with the public so I wasn't sure. I'm trying to judge how crowded it will be and how early I would need to get to the beach to set up chairs and umbrellas. (We're not morning people) Also, do all resorts have member BBQs? This will be my 1st DVC trip and I'd love to meet some other DVCers! Thanks.

The Beach House at HH does provide a public beach access and the parking area is open to the public. In this case, it is still in a gated community area and only residents of the Palmetto Dunes Plantation are allowed access to the roads there at all.

There are several hotels/condos right in the area- all with private access to the same beach area.

I've never seen the beach crowded and have been there over the July 4th Holiday many times, so I wouldn't worry about finding a good spot to enjoy the ocean at HH.

HH does have an event called "Mick's Ears" for DVC members. It is designed as a mixer with drinks and food available (for a charge). It wasn't offered over the 4th this year due to other activites, but reports by those who have been were glowing.
