Just curious if any of you big fans of HH or those who own other timeshares have any information on the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort. We are considering going to HH for a few days in October using cash instead of points. The good AP rates and Disney Visa rates at the Disney resort won't help us as we are going in mid-October. DH found some pretty good rates for this place and we were just curious if anyone has ever stayed there before.

TIA

Have never stayed there, but it is an "older" resort. I think the condition of where you stay depends on the individual owner. I have seen several units up for sale at great prices on eBay due to foreclosure by the "regime".

Have you tried calling MS to see what the cash rates would be, even without the special AP or Visa rate? They might be better than you expect...

I am going to be at HH starting Oct 3 and got a great cash rate for part of my stay using the Disney Visa special. I just asked if my dates were included, they looked and told me yes! It never hurts to ask...::yes::

It's on the ocean, but it is an older resort. The oldest on the island. It's in need of a major overhaul. Some people have kept their units updated, a lot haven't.

If I was going for just a few days, I'd try Priceline and bid on a 4 or 5 * for $80- $100 a night. :) Either that or www.vrbo.com and book direct from the owner. They tend to drop their prices for last minute bookings. Good luck!

My wife and kids and I stayed there 2 years ago, and the place we stayed at was nice, but OLDDDD!!! Picture 1960's stove, refrig. The pool is VERY nice, but the place is outdated. A lot depends upon the area of HHBT you stay at. There is Certain levels like Gold, silver, bronze I think. The gold is kept up in this decade, the bronze in the 70's or 60's....

My bet: stay at another resort! Like Holiday Inn, or Hilton, or other resort.

HTH!!

Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like HHB & T might be a little risky for those of us used to DVC standards. Juls - do you mind me asking if they gave you the Visa rate of $99 for a 2BR for that early in Oct. or was it a different discounted rate? Maybe we'll try Priceline. Maybe all of this is a sign we should stay at home and clean out the closets during fall break - wait - what am I saying? Surely it won't come to something drastic like that!

I did not reserve a 2 BR for early Oct, we will be in a 1 BR, but I did ask out of curiosity what the rate would be for a 2 BR and they quoted me 149.00/night. Hope this helps to keep you from cleaning those closets!
