We went last year (2004) the last full week of February. It was only 2 weeks earlier than we'd gone the year before. Surprisingly, for us, however, there was a BIG difference in the weather. No one was swimming. Even DH, who loves to golf, complained that it was too cold for him to enjoy golfing (which is almost unheard of-him not enjoy golf?!) I went on the Dolphin cruise and saw Dolphins, but it was definitely not worth freezing, which I did. Although they have activities, one day when we went to Pinckney Island, we came back early because everyone was so cold and miserable. This coming year we're going back mid-March again.

Thanks SO much for letting me know. If the girls can't swim it would not be a fun trip!

We went at the end of March a couple of years ago, and it was nice then. I guess a month makes a big difference!

Thanks again!

I was there the last couple days of February this year. The weather was sunny and beautiful, but a little on the chilly side. Nobody was swimming at the beach house, and only a few were swimming at the resort. Activities were scheduled, but the resort population was extremely sparse at that time. Great atmosphere for a leisurely relaxed vacation, but definitely not its most exciting time of the year.

I used to live in Charleston and have been to HH twice in Feb and both times it was too cold to do much outside. We're going over Easter this year, and although even March can be a bit iffie - that month really makes a difference. We've moved north - so perhaps our definition of "cold" will change and 50 degrees would feel balmy in feb!

We went to HHI the last week of February in 2001 and the weather was gorgeous. In the 80's every day. We did the dolphin cruise and didn't even wear a jacket. Swam in the pools everyday and laid out on the beach and walked it. They did have activities for the kids. I remember B'lou was there, they had a campfire and unbirthday party and Goofy Bingo for sure. Our dolphin guide said we did luck out with the weather--it wasn't always that warm at that time of year. I guess you take your chances.
