HH at Christmas

After thinking that I would not stay much at HH I am considering an Xmas visit. Does anyone have experince at the DVC resort at that time? Do you think I have any shot at getting a 1 or 2 bedroom at this late date!

My mom and I will be alone for XMAS since my brother's family will be snow sking and we don't ski. We have spent Xmas at HH in the past so I thought this might be fun. (We did Vegas last year!)

Christmas is pretty quiet at the HH resort. My first visit I booked in September for Christmas in a studio. The resort fills up for NYEve, but the dates before that will probably still be available. I don't think you'll have any trouble.

As a general rule I like to be on the beach, but at that time of the year we won't be on the beach anyway so I figure biking and shopping are the order of the week and DVC is close to the beach. We will see.

We reserved a 1BR at HH in July of last year for Dec 29th - Jan.2(I think) and had no problem getting it. Good Luck and enjoy your stay!

We got a 2BR on 8/21 last year, after being on the waitlist for about 3 weeks. We needed 6 nights and got them all at once.
HH is wonderful at xmas -- quiet and relaxing. DD14 and DS9 had a wonderful time too biking the island and doing kid/teen activities, including kids' and teen night out and NYE parties for both age ranges.
I think you will love it. BTW, it was warmer at xmas than at Tsgiving and our crew spent hours and hours in the heated pools and the hot tub.

We have been there 4 times over the holidays(including x-mas once and New Year's 3 times. It may be difficult to get a 1 bedroom because there are so few, but if you are willing to do a 2-bdroom, you should be ok. We were in the main lodge 3rd floor 3 times and once in builing 13 at this time of year. It is really nice to have the covered parking that these two areas share. They have alot of activites going on at the resort and we just love it at that time of year. DS even swam when it hit 60 degrees one day! Pools are heated! Have fun!

It is difficult to get summer reservations at 7 months our at HHI so that's why we added on to get the 11 month window for summers.
