HH at Christmas?

We just got back from a great long weekend in HH. Now I am thinking we might try to go back at Christmas. Has anyone been there then? I know it would be too cold to swim but are there special activities at the resort? The CMs there are so great and it was all so relaxing. I think it might be fun at Christmas.

What is your experience?

I have spent at least three xmas weeks at HHI(and then twice we just stayed NYE on the way home to Boston from WDW). We really enjoy HHI resort any time of year. At xmas our DS did candycane ice cream making one year, southern snowball fight(with white tube socks), family touch football on the beach, marsh exploration, DH and DS did canoe rtrip off Pinkney Island, we all did alot of shopping, DH did golf(only 9 holes). We did tour of historic Beaufort SC (on our own) nice seaside town with some civil war history and anebellum homes. resort is nicely decorated and they do have Santa and cookies for xmas eve(I think). Very relaxing..weather has fluctuated from 60's with DS swimming in the heated pool to 30's with gloves and hats a must..really can't tell what to expect.

We went a few days after Christmas several years ago and stayed through New Years. It was a relaxing time after the hectic holidays and we enjoyed it. Our kids would try and swim in the pool during the middle of the day (full sunlight) but I wasn't brave enough to do that. The resort was nicely decorated too. I know there are some people who go annually at Christmas, you might do a search for HH at Christmas or maybe someone will chime in!

Okay, someone chimed in while I was typing and I thought it was Connears who always went, but was afraid to call by name.

Yup, It was me! We might even get a one night stay at HHI this year on our way home from xmas at OKW 12/24-12/29(like the past 3 years). I'd take it for one night anytime! of course watching college football in your villa with all your favorite snacks is not a bad night! We always get the wonderful Welcome Home greetings and just love being there.

Although June this year was fabulous with great beach and pool time(not a reality at xmas at HHI).
