I was looking at the resale charts and I see DVC at HH and VB seem less expensive and you get more points. From anyone who owns there what can you tell me about it. Do you have difficulties trying to book ressies. at wdw dvc?? Tell me perks, facts, or downsides of owning at either of these 2 locations. Thanks for any help!:goodvibes Also does anyone know what year HH was built and VB was built? I know VB was the 2nd DVC to built so the person probably has had for 12 years or so would I loose those 12 years in my contract???

We own some of our points at VB. We own those points specifically for the 11 month window at VB, so we never use those points at WDW.
The Vero Resort is fantastic, and adds to our WDW vacation nicely. The town of Vero Beach is a quiet town, so if you're looking for nightlife it may not be the spot.

The only downside that I can think of is the annual fees. They are significantly more than the WDW DVC resorts.
Of course, if you purchase VB primarily for use at WDW, that could be a downside. If you're not picky as to which resort you stay at, and can be a bit flexible with dates, you will likely get something at WDW. However, if you want to stay in a VWL studio at Christmas (for example), you may be disappointed. :smokin:

VB was the 2nd DVC resort, and it opened it 1995. HHI was the 3rd DVC resort, and it opened in 1996. Both expire in 2042, along with OKW, VWL, BWV, and BCV.

Like MG, we have VB points just for the 11 month window and for VB use exclusively(we also have a contract at SSR). DH was very worried that with SSR almost sold out and AKV coming on line, VB would be tough to get for Easter week.

We own VB, and have never had a problem getting into where we wanted, when we wanted, 7 month included. Yes the maintenance fees are a bit more than everywhere else, but then you save quite a bit buying there. We finally did stay there this past May, and while we found it comfortable, we also found there was not much to do there unless you are a beach person, which I am not. I suppose I would have found more had the weather been better. The waves were in the 6 foot range, while beautiful, they were advising not to go in the water due to rip currents.

I own at both. I never have a problem getting a reservation anywhere (sometimes I need to waitlist, never have not been able to go).

The great thing about owning HH is that it is such a small resort, it is sometimes tough to get in. If you want a studio, you pretty much must own there for prime time availability.

Wherever you decide, buy! It is the best thing we ever did!

I owned points at HH and used them there once. I was able to book at other Disney resorts with them HOWEVER, I am VERY flexible and tend to book late. It's not a big deal to me if I get SSR or OKW so that works.

I stayed at HH once and did not really like it. It's a beautiful resort, but too far from the ocean IMHO. So when it came time to "cut down' on the points it was an easy decision to sell HH. I will also say that it was finanically the LEAST profitable of my choices, the appreciation there is not what it has been on my OKW or BCV points. (Now I LOVE HHI itself and will be staying there for a few days next month, just not at Disney!)

We passed ROFR on our first contract today.:cool1: We bought HH, becasue we can see ourselves wanting to go there for many years as a couple after the kids are grown. Don't get me wrong, dh and I will want to go to Disney without the kids, but with all the resorts at Disney, we were worried that with more members and such a small resort, HH will get harder to get into. We will add on a contract at a Disney property in the next year to use primarily at Disney and will also probably add on more at HH at some point as well.

You have to decide if you're flexible enough to take whatever resorts are left at Disney at the 7 month window to buy outside of Disney.

We're very happy with our decision.
