I just booked for this June a month away for a one bedroom suite and got a rate of 116.00 a night. He first asked if I was AAA member which I am not then I asked about govt rate since I work for my City...then he told me about manager special for the 116.00. Also when I first started checking I noticed online they have several different rates....one was 119.00 per night if you booked online and paid for the whole time up front. Hope this has helped some...also just ask when they call and also tell them if they have never stayed before...he asked me I think it may have helped some that we hadnt.
As PP said, on ebay for next week there is currently one up for around $780 so worth checking for the dates they want. We stayed there through RCI as we are owners, we liked it alot.
$1000 in march might be tough. That's prime time for Orlando area timeshares. You'll have to scour the various rental sites pretty carefully to catch an owner who under-prices, or you'll have to wait for a last-minute catch on ebay, etc.
