I thought you guys might like to see this. This is an annual contest that Home & Garden Television sponsors. Every year the home is in a different locale. This year it's in Georgia and it's a beaut. The problem with winning a home like this is that the winner is responsible for all the taxes, and there aren't many of us out there who could afford them.

Unfortunately, not one of the winners has ever been able to keep the house they've won. They've each had to sell their prize home to pay the tax. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great deal. I register every day.

I'd heard that all of them have had to sell the homes they've won. You Brits may not be aware of the fact that when we win a contest or a lottery, the winnings are treated like income and we pay federal tax on them. On this partcular prize, I'm guessing the taxes would run close to $400,000.
