Heys Luggage - any experiences good or bad?

I purchased a two piece set of Heys Apollo spinner luggage today from Costco for $130. Seems like a good deal but before I open it, does anyone have anything good or bad to say about it? My husband does not think it will hold up (especially to Southwest air, who have destroyed several pieces of luggage for us in the past) - he thinks it will crack when the airlines get to it. I don't want to keep it if it's junk that will fall apart (and hear "told you so ..."), so, any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

My DH has a Heys carry-on hard side that he travels with every week. I bought it for him for Father's Day 2010 and the only problem he had was the handle broke in May. Since it was still under warranty he sent it to one of their repair people and they replaced the handle no problem. Not surprised about the handle since it gets a workout.

I got a Heys luggage set the Christmas after I graduated high school (so almost 17 years ago :scared1:) from my grandparents. It has held up beautifully! It has travelled all over with us. Its held up much, much better then the Sonoma set from Kohls we received for our wedding shower 6 years ago.

Have you visited the Heys website? The one we see in Canada has a video of a car being driven over the luggage, and the luggage doesn't break. The video was done by a local t.v. station for a consumer feature, not by the company itself.

Heys is awesome! We bought the disney mini-rollers for the kids almost 4 years ago and have been so impressed that we have been replacing our old luggage with new pieces from them. It is fantastic!

I love Heys luggage! I just bought a new set before our last vacation and it withstood the baggage handlers (gorillas) very well. I didn't need new luggage but couldn't resist buying a new Mickey Heys set so I will be selling my recently purchased Heys on Craigslist. Heys holds up really well. :thumbsup2

I have a Disney Heys. The one with a large Mickey head embossed on it. I use it as carry on and can put a weeks worth of clothes and 2 pairs of shoes. I wouldn't check it because they would scratch it. I would think a non shiny hard cover would be ok. I like that it is lite also.

Thanks so much for the replies. I think I will keep the luggage. Now I need to convince my husband that I need a trip to Disney to try it out.:cool1:

We use the Hey's spinners and LOVE THEM!!!!!! Seriously love them. The best part of it is that the KIDS push the bags through the airport etc. They are SO easy. We fly SW and have never ever had a problem. I love them.
