Sorry cant help with your questions just wanted to say welcome to the boards.

1. does anyone know where u can get the lynx bus from i know it's from the TTC but i don't know where that is. The TTC is at the Magic Kingdom Park. You would take the bus to magic kingdom and then the monorail to the TTC I think.

3. has anyone ever gone with my travel before. We've flown with airtours the last twice we've been and had a few problems on the flights so Hoping 3rd time lucky and all that.

Hi Karoke,

Welcome to the boards :welcome:

As Davscotcar has said you can get the LYNX but from the TTC which you can get to form the Magic Kingdom via the Monorail.

You can request to stay in particular areas if you book through Disney although the wont guarantee to fulfill the request. In your case it sounds like you will need to speak to My Travel if that is who you have booked with to find out if they can pass your request onto Disney for you.

Welcome to the DIS Karoke - you are in exactly the right place :cool1:

The Lynx bus that goes to and from the Transportation and Ticket Centre (TTC) is the number 50. This now also stops at Downtown Disney.
It drops you at Seaworld, where you can then get to anywhere on I-Drive via the I-Ride Trolley.

As has been said above, the TTC is close to the Magic Kingdom. To get there from the All Star resorts you would need to take the Disney bus to the Magic Kingdom. Then head for either the ferry boat or the monorail to get back to the TTC (the TTC is next to the MK parking lot).
Alternatively, if you were in Epcot you could catch the monorail back to the TTC.

Obviously, even though Disney transport is very efficient, it does take quite a bit of time. especially by bus, to get from your resort to MK and then to the TTC. If you want to get their quicker you could take a cab from the All Stars direct to the TTC for about $10-15 plus tip.
Reception at the All Stars will be able to call you a cab.
Or, if you have a car, just drive to the MK carpark to get to the TTC.

Yes I have flown with MyTravel. There were no delays which was good. Plane was clean and staff were helpful. No TVs on the backs of the seats which I didn't like and the big TVs were very fuzzy and old. The plane trip was very boring.

I'm staying at the Hilton Vacation Club Seaworld and possibly flying. I really don't want to rent a car just to get to WDW. I understand the Lynx bus stops at Seaworld and goes to DTD. Do you think this is an acceptable way to get to the parks? I was thinking of jumping on a Disney bus from DTD to the parks. I've always stayed onsite, so I'm unsure how to get around without the Disney transportation. My boss gave me use of her timeshare for free so I couldn't turn it down! Thanks for the info. Oh, do you have to be a WDW resort guest to use the transportation from DTD or the TTC?

Using the Lynx to get to Disney isn't really the best option, but is do-able. The HGV@SW has a shuttle bus with 3 buses in the morning and 3 at night (from my siggy, you can tell I like the HGI@SW and the shuttle services all the 3 Hiltons in the area as we would get to experience every day and night for pick-up/drop off). From people I spoke to and getting to know the drivers, I think last time it was $10 return (+ tip). So that might be a little more convenient, although I think you have to book it rather than just show up.

Also, Magic your Way (AFAIK) doesn't include use of Disney Transport. The UK Ultimate Tickets DO include Disney Transport, so if you are buying an Ultimate ticket, then you are allowed to use the Transport.

Hope that helps.

The buses don't run directly from DTD to the parks. You would have to get a bus to a resort and then pick up a park bus, so that really isn't an option - you'd spend half the day travelling. Anyone can make use of Disney transportation, regardless of ticket type. Technically, I think maybe the single day tickets don't include free use of Disney transportation, but there is no requirement to prove eligibility, so it's a moot point.

We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Sea World when we exchanged with RCI in May/June 2003. The unit we stayed in was excellent.

With regard to travel to Walt Disney World I would say that if you want on the popular rides at the disney parks it is usually a good idea to get there early. EIther before/as the park is opening. We stayed on IDrive this year (without a car) and got a Taxi to get to each Disney Park (to get there early) and used Public Transport (Lynx 50) to get back (when time wasn't as important).

As already said Disney Transportation is free to all (coz the drivers never ask to see anything as you get on).

Hi Karaoke.

As a matter of interest where will you be staying in Orlando?

1. TTC is at Magic Kingdom parking lot.
2. Don't know.
3. I went this year with My Travel. A lot depends on where you are flying from. The newer MT fleet have modern features with seat back TVs etc. but the older planes do not. I fly from Glasgow on a Thursday at 10am. I got one of the old planes which makes for a pretty uncomfortable (seat pitch in economy is poor), boring (unless you take your own entertainment) journey.
Staff were good though.

How much do the cabs usually cost to the parks? I really can't decide what to do. I hate the idea of driving 16hrs as well as driving around WDW, but that may be my only option.

Thanks. So, where the buses from HGVC efficent? Is that $10 each way?

It always seemed to cost us $36 from Quality Inn Plaza to most Disney Parks (don't know why coz some parks were much closer than others!).
I would think it would be $25/30 from Hilton GV.

The times were perfect for me since 8am buses are out of the question for me. I felt they were efficient. From the Hilton Garden Inn the times were something like 9.35am, 10.25am and 11.05am with 6pm, 8pm and 10pm on the way back (the morning pick up will differ for each Hilton hotel by a few minutes).

The shuttle from the HGI was complementary so we only had to tip, and I think it was $10 return for the people at the two HGVs. Over the 49 nights spent there it felt like I lived on that bus sometimes, so amused myself watching the driver interrogate people if they lost their return slip to make sure they were actually supposed to be there- so I heard a lot of conversations. One year, people had to go to the front desk of HGV and the other year you had to get a ticket thing on the shuttle. So I'd check with front desk when you get there what the exact procedure is for the shuttle bus.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like I should just drive the 16 hrs or rent a car. Boy, have I been spoiled by staying onsite. Course, a free use of a condo will make it better ;)
