"Hey You're a Disney Expert. . . "

K.I.S.S. - Keep it simple, stupid. I'm an avid non-planner and never have a bad time at the house of mouse.
For a non planner, I suggest the following:
1. don't over-do it.
-pick a single park, pick 3 must do rides, counter service for lunch, suggest they take a mid-day break at the resort and use the whole day to explore (evenings too)
2. ADR's.
- maybe one or two. really depends on the number of days they are there
3. Use MyDisney app.
- have it pick their 3 fast passes and roll with the rest.

Non-planners are not picky people. However, if there is something they really want to see, they will make time.

If asked I'll advise them to get their tix from UT, sign on to MDE and how/when to use it. I'll tell of the advantages of hitting ropedrop, if they're not using a TA I'll tell how I go about booking airfare and rental cars, also mentioning DME and Tiffany. I suggest daily breaks and tout the benefits of Hoppers. Finally I inform them of lesser known rides, attractions and places to relax they may not know about. The only thing I won't allow is for them to hop on our WDW vacation, been there, done that, never again.

Many of us "Disney Experts" would not tell a "non-planner" anything.

What's the point?

It would only annoy the newbie and frustrate us.

Give the newbie this website address with the suggestion to read some of the threads... and see what transpires.

What Robo said :thumbsup2

I have planned countless trips for family and friends who were newbies, they all truly appreciated all of my efforts, AFTER they arrived in Orlando and realized the importance of a solid plan, with outs for unexpected situations.

However, that being said, it is quite time consuming and can lead to some frustration for both parties. Sadly, with the advent of FP+, wristbands, MDE and many new attractions, I am now the newbie!! I haven't been since 2012 and I can't recall any other 2 year period since my first trip in 1993 that required such a steep learning curve.

Feelin' like a born again Disney fan
