Hey, You Lions Can't Do That! This is Disney! A Frozen Harambe Trip Report! NEW 8/27!

You remember that good sleep I was trying to get...well so much for that! We were so tired last night that we chose to leave our pillows in the car, that was such a bad choice! These pillows almost disappeared when you put your head on them. Oh well, we are on our way to Disney World!! What's wrong with waking up at 5 in the morning! It didn't seem to damper my mood one bit, as you can tell from this photo, I seemed rather chipper, even while curling my hair!

AndreaCurlingHerHair_zpsad94ea44.jpg

By 6:23 am, we had gotten everything in the car, checked out and were on our way to get some gasoline and breakfast! If you have read one of my reports before, you will know where we are headed!! From the drive last night in the bugs King Candy was looking a little rough around the edges! At 6:50 we stopped for gas and Jeremy was in a really great mood too!

JeremyFillingUpGas_zpsfd93e8cc.jpg

He even took the time to clean off all of the fun leftovers of the drive to the hotel last night!

JeremyWashingTheWindshield_zps518c0699.jpg

Back on the road, we were full on gas, now we just needed to be full on food! The Panera Bread that we stop at is right before you get into downtown Jacksonville, it is enough out of the way to be calm and quiet but it is in a really nice area, which I like! We were about to leave Georgia, and finally make it to the state Walt Disney World calls home!!

WelcomeToFloridaSign_zpse3dafd15.jpg

It is always nice to see that sign, knowing how close we are getting to our destination! Not too much longer, maybe by 7:15 we were pulling into the parking lot in front of Panera!

PaneraBread_zpsf1dfc083.jpg

Last time we ate inside, this time, however, we were getting it to go! We wanted to be able to do as much at Frozen Summer Fun as we possibly could, and that involved getting there in time to see the Royal procession which started at 11:00! Another happy surprise was that we had a free bagel on our MyPanera Card, which meant breakfast for both of us was only $7.53! That was going to be nice considering that we were already over budget! So we got our food, and a very nice lady behind us in line said that she wanted my dress! She said, she was going on vacation and that was just what she needed! She offered to swap the dress she was wearing with me, which oddly enough was animal print, could have come in useful at Harambe Nights! :rotfl2: With our food in hand, we hopped back into the car and started on our way!

Since Jeremy was doing the driving I offered to spread his Honey Walnut Spread onto his French Toast Bagel, so he could eat more easily!

JeremyEatingBagel_zps22538952.jpg

This time around I got the Bacon Spinach Souffle! They have the best souffles for breakfast! I can always count on Panera to be delicious! They have never let me down, no matter what I get!

Souffle_zpsf311cc61.jpg

By 8:45 am we had made it to I-4! We were doing a really great job on time and the anticipation always starts building more and more at this point of the drive!! We can almost taste that Disney Magic in the air! At 9:33 am we were waving to Harry Potter over at Hogwarts, and by 9:41, we were going under those perfectly welcoming archways that let us know we have arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort!!

Since we were there at a decent time, we decided that we were going to go ahead and check-in at Kidani, our room wasn't ready yet, so we set up our room alert, and went to park the car under the shade! We were actually going to take the bus for once!! So, our Disneybounding today was a little difficult to see, but if you can imagine the characters you might be able to see it!

Jeremy was dressed as Sven! His red belt is a little hard to see, but if you look at a photo of Sven, you can get the idea!

JeremyAsSven_zps5b985548.jpg

I on the other hand was dressed as Olaf! I had on my white dress, Orange Magic Band for his nose, Black wristlet, and brown shoes, all of the huggable colors of our little snowy friend!

AndreaAsOlaf_zps96f7a010.jpg

Not a minute later the bus came, we didn't have to wait long at all and we were the only ones at the bus stop for Hollywood Studios, and the only ones on the bus too! We stopped at Jambo House, no one there, and then Blizzard Beach, no one there either! Finally we had made it to Hollywood Studios!! Our first signs that we were heading into something FUN!

FrozenFunBannerWithOlaf_zps2eee6566.jpg

It was 10:45 and we were walking up to the bag check! As we were walking up the security guy said, "For The First Time In Forever, someone with a tiny bag" Yeah, my wristlet was very small, it made me laugh when he said that! We still have our active Memory Maker from last trip so we were going to waste no time getting Photopass photos! They even had one set-up outside of the park!

SandyOlaf_zps5546abbd.jpeg

We scanned our Magic Bands and walked into the park and up the street, we of course grabbed an Olaf on a Stick as we went in though! He would come in very useful over the next few days!! The sides of the streets were packed with people trying to find somewhere to stand for the processional! Luckily, I knew that it continued after the tiny welcome show at the stage, so I knew that we could stand over at the Hall of Fame plaza and see it perfectly fine! It would eventually make its ways past us and over to the Star Tours area. Score, when we got over there it was completely empty! I was even able to find a little shady spot to stand in while we waited! I did, however, take the opportunity to snag a pic of Walt and Olaf!

OlafWithWalt_zpsfabad367.jpg

We were also supposed to be meeting a friend of ours here today! She had gotten a little held up, and was going to be a little late meeting us, so we were fine waiting a few minutes for the Frozen processional to start!!

Joining in and catching up! So excited for more TR! My sisters live in SC (more inland), and we are planning a visit to them next year that will include Charleston. I am so putting FIG on the list! It looked AWESOME!

Your outfits are so cute! I love how into all that you guys are - way to have fun!

Free bagel? Yay! I, like you, majorly heart Panera. BUT, The Hubs isn't a big fan. He thinks they are overpriced for what you get. Womp womp. I force him to go sometimes, anyway! I have never tried the souffles there, so putting that on my list, as well!

The experience of Disneyland, "the happiest place on Earth", is something everyone should experience at least once. It's very expensive, and few rides are thrilling for adults, but there is something for everyone and nowhere else on Earth do people break out in song and dance in the streets or sweep up your trash so quickly. Kids of all ages.

I really hope the lady that offered to trade dresses with you was just kidding, because otherwise, that would've been very awkward! :dance3: Your dress was very cute, though! I think it's fun that you and Jeremy Disneybound. That's something we haven't tried before, but I'm thinking about for next summer. Hmm....

Walt and Olaf...

-Stephanie

you guys made great time! We love Panera - though I am a bit partial as my sister is the catering director for Long Island for them - so she always brings up a ton of stuff from them when she visits

Very smart to know how the parade would go and finding shade is a bonus!

Weeeee!! Free bagel! More importantly, free PANARA bagel!! nomnomnom

I love your Disneybounding its subtle but its there and awesome!

Did you guys use the DPart this trip? How did you find it?

Also, Now I'm all curious if the next dessert will be berry-rific again! :cutie:

Yeah, we are huge fans of Yelp (and Trip Advisor). Yelp on the phone is awesome for road trips, to be able to know what is at each exit before you decide which exit to pull off of for lunch/dinner. And like you did with the pizza joint, we always look for places with lots of reviews and high ratings. It usually works well for us :goodvibes

.

I just used Yelp yesterday to look up some places near Brunswick, Georgia. Instead of stopping in Charleston in September we are planning on looking around in the "Golden Isles" area of Georgia. I found this place that sounds so good, I think it is called Jerk Shack, and they have authentic Jamaican food, we are really excited to try that next month, and I wouldn't have known about it, had it not been for yelp!

I am definitely going to be trying out the pizza, I have an Emile Henry baking stone that I have used successfully in the past, in the oven, I wish I had a smaller stone that would fit in my Breville, but oh well, I think I am going to try out some different dough recipes to see which one we like the best and then we will dive into the KettlePizza for the realdeal, or as close as we can get to it! Thanks for the sites!! They are going to be very useful!

Awesome, I hope you enjoy the Charleston area!

Thanks, we never used to think about what we wore to Disney, and then we realized that if we were going to have photos taken, we wanted to look good in them :rotfl2: Then, on Pinterest I started noticing all of these people that do "Disneybound" style outfits, and we have really enjoyed doing it these past two trips!

The souffles are really good! The majority of the time, that is what I will get for breakfast there! Jeremy loves the bagels though, he bounces back and forth between the French Toast and the Cinnamon Crunch!

Yeah, I am pretty sure she was kidding, or at least I took it that way...yeah come to think of it, that would have been really awkward if she wasn't :confused3

Both Jeremy and I have really enjoyed the Disneybounding! It is kind of fun, especially when people realize that you are doing it. I try to keep my outfits comfortable, and not too over the top. I don't want to be walking around in the hot Florida weather being miserable...LOL I think you guys would have fun doing it! At least one day! You could each pick out your favorite character and go for it!! :thumbsup2 If you want to see some ideas for it go here and check it out!!

http://disneybound.tumblr.com/

You can look through the archives, she has literally TONS of choices where you could get some ideas! I always start with her, then look in my closet to see what I have that would work!

That Walt & Olaf photo is definitely one of my favorites of this trip! I just think it is so cute! :cheer2:

How lucky! I am so jealous! I wish I knew someone that worked for them, or even if there was one close to my house! The closest one to us is about 45 minutes away :sad2:

We were so happy that we made it in time for the mini-parade! Sometimes we hit traffic in Orlando, but this time it was pretty open! I don't think we will ever be able to go back to driving straight through! Well, except for on the way home! :rotfl2:

Exactly! Who doesn't love free bagels! Jeremy was happy about that!

Maybe one of your vacation days you guys will try some Disneybounding...hmmm?? :listen: Its good when they are subtle, wait until you see Pascal...now that one...well subtle is not the correct word for it :scared1:

We didn't even need the DPart app! At the Bus stop at Kidani Village they have HDTVs up at the stops now which have live updated bus times on it! Every time we were at the parks pretty much as soon as we got to the bus stop there was one there or pulling up! We were really lucky with the buses this time!

You will have to wait and see about the next dessert! Muahahaha! :wizard:

I totally plan on taking lots of Olaf pics. Love your pic of Walt and Olaf and yay for getting there on time!

It became such a fun activity during the day! We kept thinking about what Olaf would do on his summer vacation! Even though we are adults it kept us entertained, and sort of let us look around more than we normally did! :goodvibes

Just dropping by to say hello and let you know how much I am enjoying reading.

the bonus was clicking on your Alaska report from 2012!
We are only up to the Seattle portion of your trip over there, but I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to write such an excellent review.

We are in the planning stages of Alaska 2015 on the Wonder and being from NJ have the same East Coast logistics with where to fly in to - seattle vs Vancouver.

Thanks to your great review, I will not hesitate to choose Seattle if the price works out. We are definitely going to patronize the Savor Seattle gourmet tour and take advantage of other places you visited.

Can't wait to read more and would love to link your report to our meet group to help others with their planning.

Bah, Panera Bread. I used to work there, so whenever I see the logo or the commercial I go into PTSD. Haha.

Yay you made it!

Yay, welcome!! You are more than welcome for the Alaska TR! You can certainly link it to your group! I hope it helps someone with their planning! We definitely had an amazing vacation and I know you guys will have a great one! Savor Seattle was fantastic! A definite highlight of our time in Seattle! That is so kind of you to say all of those nice things, it makes me really happy!! I hope you enjoy this one just as much!! Happy planning!!

Yay you made it!

:guilty: Sorry about Panera, we really love it so we go there often on vacations. However, during this report we stopped there no more, so you don't have to worry, that is, until or if you read my next PTR/TR :rotfl2:

That is so cool about the bus wait times on the TVs!

I'm subbing :)

I'm subbing :)

Yeah, those times being there was great!! They were EXTREMELY accurate, I would hope so though since Disney is doing it, but it made things really easy to just glance up at the TV to see the next bus arrival!!

Welcome!! Thanks for subbing in! I will have a new post up tomorrow!! I ran out of time tonight! More Frozen Fun coming up asap!

The procession had already finished it's crawl toward the Sorcerer's Hat Stage, and the little 5 minute Welcome was over, so now it was time for them to head our way! If you remember from my last TR, the Disney people LOVE to recycle, it was definitely noticeable in this parade! Can you tell where some of these different costumes are from? First up we had some lovely Snow skaters!

FrozenStreetSkaters_zps763c9fe0.jpg

They circled around for a really long time waiting for the rest of the parade to catch up to them, they were so happy and smiling the entire time! I know it had to have been really hot for them! Next up were the royalty themselves Anna & Elsa! When they got closer to me they both looked the other way so I didn't get a chance to get a really close photo of them, other than their backsides anyway!

AnnaAndElsaCarriage_zpsad16c8cf.jpg

I don't know what it is about a color guard, but I really love watching them! It always seems like they take such pride and concentration in what they are doing! I never got to do anything like that when I was in high school or anywhere else, but I do love to watch them!

ArrendaleGuardFlags_zpsdd76d923.jpg

Couple skaters were next! Now these looked to be the most hot costumes out of them all! I really don't know how they do it sometimes! Mostly in direct sunlight too, and roller skating!

HappySkater_zpsfd64f9e3.jpg

Inline skiing skaters? Well these guys seemed to be having loads of fun as they were rolling down the road!

CrossCountrySkaters_zps81bdb81f.jpg

And...for the First Time! We caught a glimpse of Kristoff! It was so exciting to see him coming down the street toward us!

Christophe_zpsc1d3c2e9.jpg

At this point, we were still waiting on our friend so we wanted to stay close around this area and headed over to check out the preview for Guardians of the Galaxy! It was still going to be a few minutes before they started letting everyone in for the next preview so we stepped over to the left side of the building where they were doing a Guardians Magic Shot! We seemed to be under arrest and in some sort of lineup??

Guardians_zpsf62d4e3d.jpeg

So after the Magic Shot people were now starting to line up where you get into the line for the preview so we stood over there, out of the way and Olaf was so excited that he was going to get a sneak peek at an upcoming film!!

OlafWithStarlord_zps163b5863.jpg

The preview was a lot longer than I expected it to be! Jeremy is really excited about going to see the movie! So it was really fun to be able to check out some footage from it before it officially came out in theaters! While we were inside I had gotten a text from my friend Mindy! She was here now and over in one of the Sunset Blvd shops! We started heading that way! Once we met up with her, we all talked and decided that it was around lunch time and we wanted to get a quick bite to eat! Since we were over here we decided to stop in at Catalina Eddie's and grab some pizza!

OlafLovesPizza_zpsae2cf7e7.jpg

Jeremy and I split a pepperoni pizza with a Caesar salad! We wanted to have room for some of those Frozen snacks we had been hearing so much about! We sat and talked with Mindy for a little bit after eating to let our food settle in our stomachs! Olaf and Jeremy kept going on about how they wanted to ride something!

JeremyHangingWithOlaf_zpsf9be3543.jpg

With our food settled, we knew where we were heading next! We had Fastpasses for Tower of Terror!! Little did I know beforehand, that Mindy did not really enjoy riding this particular attraction, so I am going to keep that in mind next time I make fastpasses for us all together! So we walked over toward ToT!

HollywoodTowerHotel_zpscff9fe45.jpg

We walked straight up, tapped our bands, walked all the way in, and straight into the tv room! It was really quick and before you knew it we were on! I really love seeing everyone's faces on this ride! Sometimes people are scared out of their minds, some people are having fun, some people like us pose for photos, and then you just have people that could care less! It is so great! And with Memory Maker, you guys gets to enjoy it too!

TowerOfTerrorOlaf_zpsbfc26bf7.jpeg

On our way out we discussed making our master bathroom in our house Tower of Terror themed...hehe...every time we pass by those bathrobes I want one! Finished with Tower of Terror, we were going to head over toward Oaken's Funland and Trading Post to see what those were all about! Before we made it all the way down Sunset though, we spotted a Photopass photographer!
