Hey Vera Bradley Hipster fans - to mini or not?

I ended up with 4 more VBs yesterday. I bought the new Mailbag in Purple punch. I LOVE this bag!! I love that you can organize you CCs, and money, I love that it's a bit bigger than the hipster, and I LOVE that the outer flap pocket is perfect for maps.. I want this bag in at least 2 more colors.. Sigh.

I also bought 2 all in 1 wristlets, one for me, and one for my mom. Mine is cupcake pink, hers mediterranian white. They are sooo nice! I can run the strap through the ring on the mailbag and then slip it into the pocket to keep it safe.. Don't need the bigger bag? The wristlet has my ID, CCs, and phone all ready to come solo.

And I also bought my mom a curling iron holder in cupcakes green.

Everything was 10% off, but in reality, I think the ease of use will make them pay for themselves..

Now to just save up the money for another mailbag or 3......

Can you take photos of your mailbag with a couple of items in it? The only thing I dislike about the Vera website is that there are no inside photos of the bags - and I think the inside is very important - so I usually find a bag I like on VB then I go off to Ebay to find interior photos before I purchase. Thankfully there are a few sellers out there that take interior photos.

It would also be nice if the VB website had a photo of a person carrying the bag - so it's easier to get a size reference. I know they have photos in their catalog - but it would be nice on the website too.

That is the best part about Vera bags - it is so easy to stay organized. I have so many of them now... I just purchased the curvy tote and makeup bag (in Java Blue) to use as my "go bag"... I always have a bag packed with all of our toiletry items (I never unpack it) so that it's always ready to go when we go to our lake house or stay at a hotel. Very convenient. :thumbsup2

I went into a local boutique this week and tried both out, and ended up with the mini hipster. The regular one was just too large. I felt like it would keep bumping me in the behind when I walked. Plus, I DO NOT want to hold all of my family's junk (my kids are older and can hold their own junk!). The mini is a perfect size for a small sunscreen, sunglasses, lip stick, etc. My DH usually carried a back pack so he can carry the ponchos and stuff like that.

I got the brown/turquoise print (sorry, can't remember the name). I asked my DH to get me the little zipper change purse for my b-day to go with it.

BTW, I love the new hope print (supports cancer). It's so bright and cheerful. I had it in my hand, but then decided against it because the other print can be used all year long.

Yeah, girl - show us the money! That mailbag is really intriguing -is it basically just the hipster with a flap? I, too, find it very odd that the VB website doesn't have interior pix - the inside of a purse is kind of a big deal. :confused3

DMGeurts, I posted this somewhere else, too, but you are the one who pushed me over the edge with all your cute VB Hipster pics...and thank you, because I couldn't bear the thought of carrying one of those (although highly organized and functional, I am sure) bland & square-structured little baggalinis/travelons. I love the softer (and super-cuter) look of the VBs - and I can't believe I am admitting this!! I really thought the VB bags were for old moms...and now I am one. :rotfl:

I've been carrying my Hipster exclusively since it came last week -- never thought I'd like it as much as I do! I also got a Mini-Hipster, but now I'm not sure I'll even use it since my camera won't fit in it. I may decide to sell it later.

Yes, Mailbag pictures please!! And if anyone has photos of the Taxi Wallet ...
I will be happy to take photos of any of the bags I ordered: Large backpack, hipster, Mini-hipster, Lola (small handbag), large bow cosmetic, and a small id wallet. I also have the Tic-Tac Tote, I've had it for a couple years and I use it as a laptop bag since I have a 17" computer that won't fit most purpose-built bags.

I'd never seen Vera bags until our trip to the World in March. Now I want one! Please, any pictures of your actual bags would be appreciated!! :goodvibes

I have a mini and have used it faithfully. I can fit glass case, small camera, cards, a small trail size bottle for asprin, tums, and a small trail size of bath and body hand santizer. They are perfect for the World and they are so cute.

Hi
I've never had an interest in these bags, but after reading this thread, I'm going to order one. They look really cute. Thanks everyone!!:thumbsup2

Always happy to create a new VB addict! :woohoo: I thought I'd put my photos in this thread too... :confused3 Off to post them here for everyone.

Here is how a VB Hipster carries on a 5'3", not so skinny, person.

The Hipster photographed is the now retired hipster style (no flap) in the Daisy Daisy print. I did not take any photos of what I carried inside, but I did carry a lot, and the strap never bothered my neck. Super comfy!

I now carry this bag exclusively in several prints, including but not limited to (Capri Blue, Pink Elephants and Daisy Daisy).

I should have some time today, I will try to take some photos of what I carried inside the bag for Disney, so you all get an idea of what fits. :hippie:

OK, so I loaded up one of my extra hipsters (capri blue - retired style and color - but same size as a current hipster) with the gear I carried while at WDW, and I took photos.

First a front photo of my loaded and zipped bag:

Inside the empty main pocket. Here you will find the main pocket and two slip pockets (shown at the bottom of the photo):
CIMG4837.jpg

Inside the small front zip pocket I carried 4 Target gift card envelopes (one for each person, holding our souvinier $ ), my matching Zip ID wallet, our photo pass cards, and my cell phone (not shown).
CIMG4838.jpg

Inside the front slip pocket, I carried my daily theme park guide maps, times guide, Sharpie (for autographs) and my lip gloss.
Exterior:

Interior:

Inside my main zippered pocket, I carried a water bottle, 4 ponchos (2 shown), 1 gallon zip-loc (to keep certain items dry), and camera. Plus the interior slip pockets held a small bottle of Tylenol and Tums.
CIMG4843.jpg

On the outside of my bag, I clipped this handy dandy carabiner clip that came with the coordintaing bottle of sunscreen... note this particular bottle is fashioned to be carried with said carabiner clip. See?
CIMG4845.jpg

This bottle was found on the check lanes at Target, and purchased for $3.99. It was purchased with the intent of keeping the bottle and refilling as necessary - since we went in October, this one little bottle was sufficient.

Attached to this said carabiner clip was also a bottle of Purel hand sanitizer - not located for this photo op. I also attached any souvinier items I purchased during our day... The Disney bags attached nicely to the carabiner clip.

This completes my photo review... I hope this helps someone. :wizard:

Love the mini for the parks- fits tickets, sunscreen, sunglasses, gum. lipstick. And then I'm going outside VB for the backpack - getting a cooler one so our drinks will stay cold in the parks.

DMGeurts,

Great pics, thanks for posting! I think that I need the mini though since I' m shorter than you, and I don't like carrying much of a bag at Disney. Used to do the fanny pack, but I'm so over that thing!

Asking for the mini for Mother's Day, actually I'm bidding on ebay still trying to get one. I like all of the patterns, but need one with a black background, since I'm a black handbag girl.

DMGeurts,
Those pictures are so helpful, loved how you showed the Disney park map & water bottle, Sharpie, etc., so we can see exactly to scale!! :goodvibes
Thanks so much!!
:flower3:

Does anyone have any pics of themselves wearing the mini hipster? I'd love to see it on a body to get an idea of the true size. I'm looking for something small... this is the first trip ever that we haven't had a child in diapers/pull-ups that required a sippy cup, snacks, change of clothes, etc... I've taken my Baggallini the last 3 trips, but I just honestly don't like it! I need something new!

Visited the Vera Bradley store today...came home with the straw hat in Bali Gold...It was $38 and I had to spend $40 to get the free luggage tag so I bought some pencils as well...It was a good day. :thumbsup2

We just got back from WDW. I had ordered a bunch of Vera Bradleys, and we ended up using the all in 1 wristlets, the messenger, and the backpack. The hipster stayed in the room, and the mini hipster stayed home..

The all in 1s are AMAZING! Carried our phones, cards, KTTK cards, on our wrists whenever we didn't need the big bags. The backpack carried 3 water bottles, 2 frames for characters to sign, and anything we bought. The messenger had 2 water bottles, the cameras, maps, sunscreen, and first aid. The bags held up great, were light weight, and were WELL worth the $$$!
