Hey There Pin Collectors

I saw how some people make shadow boxes to display their pins, so I thought I'd give it a shot! I bought a box at Michael's, decorated some of the foamboard with scrapbook paper/embellishments and just stuck the pins in the foam. It turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself. :teeth:

Very cute, thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

My daughter & I went to a paneling store & purchased a 3' * 4' sheet of cork.

We are in the process of completing the display, we'll send a pic when it's done.:)

Anyway I can... I have shadow boxes, cork boards, books, bags. Then I have large tupperware type things that have drawers. I stack them up and have them labeled "Traders" and "Keepers" My biggest problem is not being able to find something when I want to frame it! I am trying to get more organized.

A few of my framed pins.. I did the Textile Services one yesterday..

Textile Services -- the gold pin in the middle is really small. It's a cast pin w/ a soap bubble mickey. I found the paper on Ebay -- it matches the pin.

...and now for my mess!

I had a pin wall -- the entire wall was covered in cork, we covered the wall in black fabric and stuck pins in it. I am moving out of that room and into another one, so all the pins have to get moved.

This is a very early picture - from a few years ago:

at the end the entire wall from about 3 feet to the ceiling was covered.. everything was divided into sections. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it.

This is how my stitch collection started, I swore I wouldn't collect Stitch:

Last night I moved all my Stitch pins to this new corkboard - it's atleast 4 ft tall. DH just hung it so I could take a picture. It's in a hallway, so I can't get a picture straight on.

My pins are attached to a foam board covered with material and mounted in a big picture frame. I have more than just Disney pins on it though.

It's too small now since I've bought more pins so I'm trying to come up with something either bigger or a new one that will coordinate with the original.

I just posted some of mine over on the "Show Me Your Pins!" thread, if you want to take a look.

This is my favorite Pin Shadow Box, I made this with maps from the park and decopoged them on to the unfinished Shadow Box, I lined the inside with Mickey fabric.

Here are others that I made by using a finished shadow box frame and lined fabric

You can see my Mickey Lamp in the reflection of this one. I love that lamp!

I have a question for those of you who display your pins on a cork board. Do you just stick the pin into the cork board without the back? Does it stay on OK? I don't want to have to worry about it falling off.

I love :lovestruc the ideas/pictures that you all have shared (for displaying pins). We have quite a collection from last year and have over 90 to trade this upcoming trip (thanks mostly to a wonderful sale/clearance on Disneyshopping.com :)). I am going to "borrow" some ideas from here to display our pin collections. Thank you! :flower3:

Yep, that's what we did, and we have yet to have one fall off. I would think that old cork board that's been used over and over and over again may be a different story, but we have had absolutely no problems with ours falling out.

Very nice displays!! And they've given me some great ideas. We actually only have a small collection right now, but I know hubby and I would both love to expand it. I'm going to have to take some of these display ideas and start creating some of my own so we can get them on display. Looks like another craft store visit is in the works for me soon.
