I'm new to DVC, bought in last November direct at Copper Creek. Decided in January to plan a trip in October for food and wine. Of course since it's just myself, my sister and my daughter we were hoping to get a studio. When I first logged in and checked my week (specific to my daughter's reading week from University) there were no studios available at Copper Creek for the whole week. But I didn't lose heart and over the course of the month, with a lot of stalking, I was able to piece together 8 nights in the same type of studio at CC. But I specifically didn't join them all together. I decided to try for an Epcot resort at 7 months for at least part of the stay so I split my stay into 2 reservations (easy to do as I had booked a lot of 1 night at a time while stalking). I had one stay October 19th to 23rd, listed with 4 people on the reservation and one stay Oct 23rd to Oct 27th with 3 people on the reservation, so they wouldn't accidentally be combined by MS. (A huge thank you to the disboards for the info about listing different guests!) I then proceeded at 7 months to waitlist the 23rd to the 27th at both beach club and boardwalk.
Well I have stalked almost daily and had not seen anything available at either resort in a studio and had pretty much given up on getting either of them. But last night I got an email that my waitlist for Boardwalk came through! I am over the moon! An Epcot resort during Food and Wine and in the first months of Galaxy's Edge. Don't get me wrong, not even slightly interested in Galaxy's Edge but love Hollywood studios so figured we can do Extra Extra magic hours and then go back to the resort to nap! LOL
All that to say I couldn't be more excited (and frankly proud of myself for navigating this crazy, wonderful world of DVC!) and don't lose hope if at first you don't get exactly what you want! Oh and huge thank you to these boards for all the amazing information that helped me along the way!
