Hey Mom, Do I get to be the line leader again? A PTR…(My TR has started! - 6/1)

You know we joke and laugh about my lack of teaching with what I do teach.. the option III program here, but just so you know.. it is not all roses and sweetness.. the asst principal made the comment to me the other day, how he does not know how I do it.. how I deal with the -in his words- "worst kids in the entire school" - on a day to day basis...

It's easy.... I do my thing.. and I keep my eye on the prize.. the next family vacation to Disney!!!! At Disney, there are no clients to train, no games to coach.. no "worst kids" to deal with.. nothing like that.. it's just me.. my wonderful family.. and a mouse we call Mickey...

Only 12 more school days until we our Christmas Vacation!!!!

So, normally this span between Thanksgiving and Christmas is my favorite time of year for school. It goes by so fast, and everything just seems to easily fall into place. Not this year. I have only been back to school for two days, and I am ready to strangle some kids. My school district is on a 4x4 schedule. That means the students take 4 classes per semester, and classes are 90 minutes long. My students take finals on the 17th and 18th and will have a new schedule of classes when we go back in January. I have some students that have given up because we have less than 3 weeks left. It is normally not like this. They are getting on my last nerve.

Ugh, that stinks that they're already giving up. Guess they're ready for break too.

Well I don't know about you, Megan.. but the second semester RULZ!!! Plenty of breaks.. and for me.. after January.. NO MORE COACHING for a few months..

I know it's not as easy as lead me to believe. I keep looking at that light at the end of the tunnel. It's just that some days are easier to see it than others.

I teach a 1/2 unit course. My students need 2.5 quality points to pass. It is the equivalent of getting a D for the 2 grading periods and the final. The only restriction is that they cannot double F. Sometimes, I'll have the student that says he already has his points and doesn't worry about the rest of the quarter. This is what I am going theough with a lot of my students - more than usual. Even more frustrating is that most of them are in one particular class.

The spring semester does feel shorter, which is funny because the longer breaks are in the fall semester. The light is much easier to see at this time.

I think the Lord heard my pleads for somethings to start looking up for me. I got some news today that just put a smile on my face (and maybe a little jealousy).

1. After one attempt, my SIL found out this morning she was expecting. YAY for them! (BTW, not jealous here - We are finished having babies. Don't get any ideas Randy.)

2. My mom called this evening and told me she got a new puppy. SHe had been looking for one for months. She got a white lhasa-poo. She doesn't have a name yet, but the boys are excited to go visit the new pup on Saturday. (not jealous here - we already have 2 pups).

3. My cousin will be taking her 5 yo DS and DH to WDW for the first time this weekend. I helped them with planning the trip! They are also going with my aunt who has been before and has a very clear and concise plan here. Well, a man that used to attend their church is now a Cm at DHS. He is a light technician. Anyone figure out where I am going here? Well, My cousin's DS is turning 6 on Tuesday, so their friend's gift o him is that he gets to turn on the Osbourne lights that night. They are getting a VIP tour of the lights with a private character meet & greet. I am absolutely thrilled for them, but I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooo jealous. What made me laugh is that she originally told me that he is lighting the tree. Then she called me back and asked me if I heard of the Osbourne lights. I was like - YES!!! SHe said that's what he gets to tun on instead. I told her that she will be shocked what these lights entail. Her DH understands though. He grew up in the same town the osbourne's are from in AR. I can't wait to hear about their trip though.

BTW, I helped plan this trip with her Mom. My aunt knew about the lights at DHS and had plans for them to visit. My cousin is just along for the ride.

Until someone gets "fixed" ya never know.... miracles happen everyday... we may just get blessed with our Disney princess yet!!!

Daisy is fun enough for two puppies!!!

Wow.. that is going to be soooo awesome!!!

10 more school days 'til we leave!!!

I had one of those moments tonight that made me wonder who taught my boy to say that!

We brought the boys to go bowling tonight. The kids had a blast. They are super-competitive. The high school kids on the lane next to ours were cracking up laughing at their reactions to each turn they took. Well, Cooper had an interesting reaction to one of his turns. He knocked down one pin and screamed "MAN! I suck!" :scared1: Who taught him that?!?

Anyway, we're staying up late tonight over here in hopes that the very rare chance of snow occurs.
