Hey Mom, Do I get to be the line leader again? A PTR…(My TR has started! - 6/1)

I understand the reasoning behind having them go to school longer. However, it is exhausting for the faculty and the students.

Yeah, the older kids do better. But, a five year old does not have the capacity to be in school that long. I've seen so many studies and now even my own kids show me that there is only so much info a 5 year old brain can hold in one day. Especially without a break or a nap. Oh well, just 107 days to go! lol:rotfl:

Love the test track pic! That is hilarious.

I can't believe k students are there that long! Mine are in school from 8:25-2:50 and we get 2 recesses and rest, and they are DONE by the end of the day. I can't imagine having to make them learn, listen, and work for an extra almost 2 hours!

Megan, I LOVE YOUR TT PIC! You made me crack up out loud....Lindsey had to see what made me laugh out loud. She loved it too.

We have the Mickey Lightsaber too. Sometimes it's a toy and well sometimes it's a weapon. You wouldn't believe how girls love those things too.

Our Kmart had the seesaw for $75. Be sure to put it up and check it out if you wait till the end of the season. We didn't and that's how we got burned on our last Mickey. :sad2: Paid $40 for something that didn't work once. :sad2:

I totally agree about the 5 year olds. I am a huge advocate of half day K, to bad there is none in Az. Avery goes from 9-3p and for the first 3mo she was fried when she got home.
Great TT pics!!

I love those TT photos - Sam looks so ticked off! :rotfl:
And you, missy! :lmao: I tend to do the same thing for ride photos now too. My default pose is the peace sign.....I'm soooo creative, huh?

Nice pose! I've got some great ones from this trip as well.. especially on the dozen or more trips on splash mountain! Mickey Lightsabers.. obviously a MUST HAVE!!! We'll let ya know how the boys do with the Christmas trip.. can't wait....

Thanks! That picture does make me chuckle.

My students go from 7:15-2:15, and by that last period of the day, they are completely wired and ready to go for the day!

I'm glad I could provide some entertainment for you with that picture!

We have this great video of the boys from that Epcot day back at Kidani having a lightsaber battle in their underwear. At one point Sam hit Cooper in the head with his saber, and Bryan told him to force Sam in return (I was sleeping at the time. I certainly would have corrected the hitting.). Sam forced Cooper first, and Cooper fell to the ground and DIDN'T GET UP! He actually pretended to be forced. Bryan still cracks up at that one.

I told Bryan I'll be looking for the decorations on sale at the end of the season. Thanks for the tip though. I'll be sure to test it first before it is picked up.

If you think back to when our parents were kids, kindergarten was started when you were 6. It took Sam going to developmental kindergarten for me to realize that.

I know! I asked Sam about that look too. He said he was preparing to go fast. LOL!

Once you know where they are, you got to do something with them. It makes things a little more interesting.

Thanks! The funny thing about the lightsabers is that Bryan goes into EVERY trip saying the boys don't need to get many souvenirs. When we get there, HE is the one saying the boys need to get everything that is available for us to buy.

Hi!!!
I saw you post on my TR so I followed you over here. Your boys are soso cute. :lovestruc
How lucky you have DVC!
AKL is a such a beautiful resort. I stopped over there on my trip last week.
I'll be back to read tomorrow. It's a little past my bedtime.:rolleyes1

So, normally this span between Thanksgiving and Christmas is my favorite time of year for school. It goes by so fast, and everything just seems to easily fall into place. Not this year. I have only been back to school for two days, and I am ready to strangle some kids. My school district is on a 4x4 schedule. That means the students take 4 classes per semester, and classes are 90 minutes long. My students take finals on the 17th and 18th and will have a new schedule of classes when we go back in January. I have some students that have given up because we have less than 3 weeks left. It is normally not like this. They are getting on my last nerve.

I'm sorry to hear about that!! What grade do you teach? I taught K and 1 before the kids were born. Then last year and the year before I taught art grades K to 8 at a private school. When I got there 7th and 8th grade were devils and no matter what you did (detentions etc.) they would not behave. So finally they both graduate and I think "oh, things are going to be a breeze." Then I got laid off.
For now just hold tight and think of January and your trip to Disney.:goodvibes

Megan, you are a very brave lady to be teaching High School! Your screen name is so appropriate! I don't know how you handle 30 of those brats at one time. Teenagers are craaaazy! :sad2:

Thanks for following me over. I need to go get caught up again over on your TR. So many pictures, so much fun!

I think my boys are cute too, but I am pretty biased.;) It is gorgeous. We absolutely love it over there.

I teach mostly sophomores in high school. Sometimes there are juniors and seniors in the mix as well. I have taught 7th and 8th grade as well. They are the worst of the bunch in my opinion. They are too old for some stuff, but they are not old enough to be completely independent. It's just a really difficult age. High school kids, oon the other hand, can see the light at the end of the tunnel - graduation. Most of the time they are completely cooperative. Sorry to hear about you being laid off.

Thanks for that Abby! They are normally not so bad.
