There is a constant flow of illegimate operators attempting to make a few bucks at MCO.
If you use a Town Car or Cab, request to see their "City of Orlando" "Drivers Permit", "don't be bashful, ask for it". It MUST be displayed on their person or vehicle and includes a Picture ID. Write down their name and permit # for safe keeping. This in itself will remind them that "you" know how it all works. IT IS YOUR RIGHT. If the driver is offended, TOO BAD!!
If they refuse to show, or don't have one, refuse to ride.
DO NOT ride with any Town Car or CAB Driver, regardless of the Company they claim to represent who cannot show or refuses to show their picture ID & Permit # from the City of Orlando, regardless of price.
And lastly, ALL commercial pickups are on the first (lowest) level. Only personal/relative/family/friend pick-ups are allowed on the second (baggage claim level at OIA) BEWARE of IMPOSTERS. DO NOT BOARD A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE ON THE SECOND LEVEL AT MCO. THEY ARE IN VIOLATION. Protect yourself from RIP-OFFs.
DO NOT be in such a hurry that you get RIPPED OFF!!
For complaints regarding Orlando transportation companies, contact "City Of Orlando Vehicles For Hire", Phone 407-246-2845, Fax 407-246-3725, email cwells@ci.orlando.fl.us
