How hard is it to get your man to dress up? Mine isn't one for dressing up a lot, but he'll do it for certain occasions!! I hope that one day we can do the 7-night cruise so that we'll have a formal night...I'm sure that would be fun for us...LOL!

Careful what you wish for - I had the same problem. When our 7 day was close my husband realized that he didn't have a suit. So off he goes to Men's Wearhouse. Too much money later he had a suit - 2 xtra pants - another jacket - ties, shirts and shoes. LOL

Ok, he's entitled to splurge. When we took our formal photos - (2 on a 7 dayer) I bought EVERY picture cuz it had been so long since he was dressed up. LOL ALot more money needless to say.

But it was worth it. LOL

Great Question....

My husband is not that kind of guy either. He was into shirts, and dockers, but the suit was a no no....

After he tried Palo's for the first time, he did not mind wearing a Jacket either... :goodvibes

Well if we're staying local I'm usually content to get him to wear a CLEAN shirt when going out let alone tackling the "let's dress up issue" but he seems to have taken to Valentine's Day or New Year's Eve as holidays where a bit more of a dress up (dress shirt, pants & tie) would be okay. To get him in a suit/tux? Well, had to marry him to get my wish on that one! Although he has gone out and purchased a new suit to wear for our Mexican Riviera cruise. I begged, I pleaded, and eventually he decided he'd never see the people again anyway so what did he really care what he wore!

Maybe you'll have to invent some more "special occaisions" for yourself!

My DH is a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. He shocked me when two weeks before we left, he bought a tropical shirt, two bathing suits and a new shirt/tie/pants set. He was really getting into the whole thing.

We decided not dress nicely, but not formally for formal night. But our luggae was delayed and we didn't get it for three days. DCL offered to let us borrow some formal wear. We did and looked fantastic. He said how glad he was that we were able to dress up and how much he enjoyed it.

Good luck with your man. He might just surprise you.

Luckily DH likes to look nice on special occasions so getting him in a suit is no problem. We dont have many occassions where we do dress up, so when we do, like on a cruise, we take advantage of it. :)

My hubby totally hates to dress up. He is allowed to wear a t-shirt and jeans to work, and he takes full advantage of that. But he looks at the ship as a "special occasion," and amazingly, he doesn't mind dressing up there at all. He even wears a tie and jacket to Triton's, which is becoming pretty rare overall. I couldn't get him into a tux when we sailed on RCCL though.

Dh wears a uniform to work and used to wear just t-shirts and jeans on the weekends. He loves to dress up on the ship and has rented a tux twice (one 7 day and our 10 day). He is now a polo shirt addict and will buy one everywhere we go and match those up with dockers so the rest of the nights on the cruise as easy to pack for him.
