Bill and Alice - Congratulations, what a great accomplishment! We are married only 21 yrs (but I guess these days, that is a good thing) and we are certainly in it for the long haul.

Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th, we had a great weekend. The weather was perfect. :smooth: Like DH said we haven't spent the 4th home in years, but it was nice to enjoy the day with some family and friends. And even though I am not a supporter of this war, I do support our men and women overseas, as well as their wonderful families. God Bless them all and may God start bringing them home safe and sound!!!!

We got to see War of the Worlds this weekend. A family event (something we don't get to do too often these days now that the kids are getting older). It was pretty cool for us to see, as some of it was filmed right here on Staten Island 9about 2 minutes from our house). My DD (Briana) and I got to watch some of the filming back in November, it was very cool to watch and we recognized all of the scenes from SI.

Only 23 days till we leave for DL, 25 till we sail. I hope the rest of this month goes by fast.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Hello, I’m late to this topic, but DW & DS’s (10 & 15) and I are booked for the 7/30 Western Mexican cruise. We’re cruise rookies and heard just the best things about the Magic. It’s 25 days to go, then afterwards we’re doing a land package at DLH for four days. Looking forward to seeing you all on board.

Welcome crowncaster! Late is better than never. If you go back about two or so pages you'll see a posting that has a list of all our names, kids ages, etc.

Let us know if you have any questions...we have a fun (and crazy  ) group here!

Welcome Kelly and David!!

Yes, we are still scheduled to meet each other on Saturday, July 30th in the Diversions Bar at 10pm (after late seating)

If you want.....bring a brown paper bag, we will do an exchange (one per family) with the contents from our hometown (about $10)...just for fun!

Our particular cruise has people from all over the country and abroad (Lynn) so we thought it would be fun to share some mementos and laughs from our local areas!!

If you're not interested in this ....we completely understand!!

Again welcome!!! :cloud9:

Where can I get more info about Frank's tour. I keep hearing good things about him. We'd be a family of four, joining if things work out.

This is my third attempt to thank you for your good wishes on our 47th Anniversary. We were married in 1958 have four married children(you all know JoAnn Lawall, our daughter) and 8 beautiful grandchildren. We have been very blessed, Love Alice Hopf

:badpc: Darn computers! Well Alice, your third attempt went through!!! And you're very welcome for the good wishes! :teeth:

FINALLY, a newbie that is NOT a teacher! I am SO happy!!!
(If you read thru all these threads, Kelly and David, you'll understand
my happiness      )

Crowncaster: read thru the last couple of threads - my favorite
Brit (and only one I know) is looking for someone to join her on
Frank's tour in Mazatlan....it would be worth your while to check this
out.....
May I also say, Crowncaster, you will NEVER regret being on this thread....you will get so much information from us and what we are doing.....
honestly, I have never, ever corresponded on a chat board and I really
got lucky with this one.....the highlight of my magical trip is meeting all these
DISers (I'm truly not kidding!!)..... many of us have listed what tours we
are taking in each port. PLEASE try and hook up with us.....many of us
are seasoned cruisers (my family has been on 6 Disney cruises) so if there
are any questions you have....please, please ask. Also, on my thread, I've
listed a couple of places we plan to meet....but the BIG meet WILL be
Diversions the first evening, at 10:00.

Alice: Bob and I have ONLY been married 21 years - we are still learning how to make it to 47!!! :rotfl: :cool1:

keep on talking.....oh, don't forget, when the first person gets their
"docs" - let us know.
Lucy

sorry for another thread - which tour DID you book for Disneyland?
I'm confused - there are two tours we were chatting about on the
Disneyland boards. Please respond....oh, yes, I forget, you are
very busy in school (sorry, I had to do that).

OH, Lynn, may all of us come visit you in 2012 for the Olympics?
(MAN, I'll really be OLD by that time)...how far away are you from
London? I am officially inviting myself, ok?

Welcome Crowncaster,

I'm mainly a lurker here, but I'm keeping a closer eye now that July 30 is practically right around the corner! I have four kids Scott (15), Tim (12), Lexi (7) and Blue (2) and we are traveling with my parents.

I'm wondering if maybe our 15 year olds might be a good match for the cruise. Scott is a techy "geeky" kid who likes chess, other mental games and talking math puzzles. He is not much of a teen type partier and was a little lost socially on our last cruise (Aug2004). He did have a good time, and he is looking forward to the next one, but it would be great if he could find a buddy with similar interests to hang out with. I know it is a shot in the dark, but I'm wondering if your son might match the profile.

I had a dream last night that I got on the cruise and was starting to have a great time, but then I realized that I forgot to pack underwear!! So today I'm going to start packing...formal clothes for 6 of us (of course it is moms job to dress EVERYBODY) will take a while to round up. It is starting to feel real, I better get ready.

Welcome Lara!! If you like add your info to the DIS list!! :cool1:

We fly out 3 weeks from today!!! :wizard:

Hi All,
Happy belated fourth. Welcome newbies! We got out documents today! Just arrived :Pinkbounc
We had a nice 4th on the Cape with my dad and inlaws. Great weather! Still looking for pirate attire. Anyone going on the lands end coastal cruise in Cabo? should we do this or just take a glassbottom boat to the arch?

Thanks,
Wendy :cool1:

Thanks for the welcome, but I've been here a while...I'm just quiet.

Can a computer illiterate like me learn to add all those fun happy faces and dancing bananas? Everyone else's posts are so colorful! I want to get in on the fun. Is there a link to that stuff?

I'll try to be around and more talkative the next couple weeks. I can't wait to meet you all.

Lara

WooHoo, Wendy!!! Documents!!

I've been scoping the local consignment store for red and white stripe shirts and long sashes. That is the pirate style I'm going for with the cut off black pants and big gold chain necklaces and an earring. I need to run over to Party City and see if I can find some eye patches and hooks, stuff like that...Seems simple enough but (like I said)with 6 of us, going from size 2T to XL, It will take me a while to get it all together.

We are doing the Chileno Bay Snorkel in Cabo. But, with the freezing cold water and jelly fish infestation, the glassbottom boat is sounding VERY tempting. I'm a wimp when it comes to water temp. I like the swimming pool to be over 90. In Puerto Vallarta, my 7 year old DD is doing a dolphin swim (DH and I observing) and my 12 year old DS is doing the cable ride thing with his Grandma.

My 12 year old would love to do a parasail sometime. It isn't offered by Disney. Do you think we will be able to find a spot in one of the ports to do it without reservations? That would be a fun surprise for him.

Lara

Lara-did you get your docs already??!?!?! If so, here's the doc dance! :cool1: And I think you're the first one on our thread to get them?!?!

Ok, the way you get "SMILIES" on your document is when you're in the "replying to a thread" area and typing your response, to the right of the area where you type are all the smilies. You leave your cursor at the point in your text where you want the smilie to be and click on the particular smilie you want. In your document it doesn't show up as it looks on the right, it shows up as a keyboard symbol. For example a smilie that is winking will show up in your text as a semi colon and half a parenthesis. But when you click "submit reply" it will show up in the response as the smilie. Hope that makes sense?!

Lisa ;)

edited-I just realized it was Wendy who got her docs....lucky girl. :cool1: You are the first one!!!! Ours have to go to our TA first and she said she'd UPS them to us.

Welcome Lara - I also just started chatting on this thread recently and everyone here is real nice. I have a DD who is 15 (kind of shy until she gets to know you, then she can be a lot of fun), there are a few 15 yr olds in the group. Of course you know my DD is looking to meet the boys. LOL.

Wendy - You lucky dog you got your docs  , I was wondering if anyone got theirs yet. I am curious to know what cabin we are in, since we don't have an assigned one yet. Plus once the docs come, I know the trip is right around the corner.

Lynn - Congratulations on London getting the 2012 Olympics. Yes, here in NYC we were a little sad, but without a stadium (and they couldn't get that whole thing together) how can you blame the IOC for not giving to us. It would have been nice after 9/11 and all, but at least the damn French didn't get it. :rotfl:
