Hey! July 30th, 2005 cruise to Mexico DISfriends!

Well, I've kept quiet long enough. Been reading along.

Having the exact opposite problem with Mrs gouodux. She has been working with a group of her patients on weight management and well, has been taking part.

She is now way too thin! Just under a hundred pounds and a size 2 is a little baggy. Help remind her that a few candy bars won't hurt anyone. Now we are having to replace her wardrobe. Guess where she shops? Nordstrom of course and I will be the first to admit our price points aren't all that low! She looks healthy and tan (Phoenix, everyone is tan) but could use a little more meat if you ask me.

Sounds like the weight management course is working!!! Leslie, maybe you could do a mini course on the cruise for us :rotfl2: ... I'm always looking for something that WORKS!!!! Okay, all kidding aside. LESLIE!!! Have a candy bar on me girlie! I think the last time I was under 100 lbs was in high school...the last time I was a size 4 was at UCI!! I don't think I was ever a size 2! My sister in law is a size 0 (how does that work?!?!) and she has a horrible time finding clothes. Just make sure you're healthy, we want to *see* you on the cruise!

Nordstrom (my favorite store, Mr. Gouodux!) is where I'm off to tomorrow to find swimsuits AND an evening dress for the cruise. I watched the Oprah show on swimsuits, so now I'm armed and prepared......... :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ok, Ok, :earseek: ....the ol' man is finally back  ...........folks :grouphug: .............YOU GOTTA SEE THE FISH PICTURES  ..........come on' Pops :rotfl: .............show us your new baby!! :goodvibes

pirate: He stole that baby RIGHT OUT OF THE OCEAN!

Thx for the encouragement, Jenny, I'm counting the days!! :smooth:

Oh yea......about the weight issue.........as you can see, I've been working out! So far I've lost about 5 lbs. in 6 months! It's discouraging but I'm sure I would weigh a lot more if I didn't do all the work I've been doing. I'm hoping I can do more in the summer and make alittle more headway. :rolleyes1

Uh, oh. I'm in a little hot water now!

I failed to mention she is only 5'2". She does look very fit and healthy. Considering I have added that portion of the equation, she may let me live.

Doesn't a huge bowl of ice cream sound good right now . . . . . . . .

(now I'm dead - have fun on the cruise!)

I've weighed more than 100 lbs. when I was BORN! :rotfl: :rotfl:
I do NOT have good genes for being thin :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
Mrs. Gouodux.....will you still be my DISer friend if I'm short and
pudgy?

LISA, LISA, LISA be careful....we also have a manager for
JC Penney in our group :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: guess you
know where my clothing are bought - the discount is wonderful....
(although, I'm in big trouble with this statement because Bob reads
these threads.......I DO sneak away to another store when noone is
looking and buy some clothing).

So far, we are meeting at Dimensions at 10:00 the first evening?
JoAnn will set a place in Disney?
Can we also meet up in the terminal or Scoops ( :mickeybar see what
I mean, it is always about food with Lucy)...I don't think I can wait until
10:00 in the evening to meet you (besides the Disney meet).

Wendy: I'm trying to remember a table for 6 in PALO. Maybe (I'm
just taking guesses) they are now holding reservations for the day of
sailing - I can't believe that, though. TRY AGAIN - do not give up!

Jenny: my problem with the shuttle - I've never used one before (Mears) - we ALWAYS drive to Disney and the port. This is why I'm scared and confused. :scratchin

Does a person congratulate a person for a fish? If so, congrats Bill? :rolleyes1

Jenny-which Hyatt is it? What city...Anaheim?

The Hyatt Orange Co. is just a few blocks from DL, but the address says Garden Grove, CA. While this is the address, it seems to be pretty much Anaheim. The Angels stadium is a mile or so away. There's a map on the Hyatt website and you actually select Anaheim for the location. :earsgirl:

Lisa-it's the Hyatt on Harbor/Chapman--they used to call it the Hyatt Alicante--and technically the address is Garden Grove, but it is close to DL, so they say Anaheim :)

Jenny - I know there is a car rental agency right around there---I will do some research and let you know what I find out.

Liz

Hi Jenny,

I did some research and here's what I found:

Avis - ANA
200 W Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA 92802 , U S A

Budget
2132 SOUTH HARBOR BLVD
ANAHEIM, CA
92802 US

Enterprise
777 CONVENTION WAY
ANAHEIM, CA 92802-3497

Hertz
Downtown Anaheim Marriott HLE
700 West Convention Way
Anaheim, CA 92802

I think the 2 closest would be Enterprise and Hertz, they are across the street from DL, but make sure you check their days/hours--one of them was closed on weekends.

Let me know if you have any questions...

Gee thanks Liz!!!

I think I will do a map quest search to see which is closest and open on Saturday!!!! I appreciate your help............ :love1:

Yes! You definitely congratulate a "catch." :cheer2: Trust me, it hardly ever happens! :rotfl2:

As far as the meet goes, it's been so long, I forgot about the Diversions at 10pm. I totally think that is a great idea for us :cloud9: so let's do it then. I guess we'll bring the $10 family brown bags to that meet and exchange them there. **Any newer DIS cruisers...........we are all bringing 1 (one) bag with something to share (from our hometown) for one other family.

From reading my Birnbaum book, I learned that there is a pizza place in Downtown Disney. I was thinking that may be a good rendevous spot for the pre-cruise gala. What do you think? I'm not sure about time or day yet. If you like that idea, let's go from there. :teeth:

My dad stole my Passporter and Birnbaum book :sad2: I'd like it back, Pops! pirate:

Bill Congratuations on your "big catch" :flower: And to think that poor JoAnn was telling us how you were working so hard at the two "jobs" and you were fishing all that time??? :sad2: I fell for it too!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

JoAnn Best wishes to the graduate! And to think that you and I are one year apart, you have a graduate and I have one going in to first grade!! You are definitely in a better position than I am! (except college tuition!)

Liz Thanks for all your help with the car rental info. I am going to call and book with Hertz tomorrow. The rental company is 1.56 miles from our hotel according to Map Quest and has the best deals. I just need to make sure they are open on Saturdays. I got a heck of a deal on a limo! I have them picking us up Sat. to port and the following to LAX. My kids are going to be so surprised!!! I am not going to tell them about the limo, just let them be surprised!!! :cool1: :flower:

Lucy I need that JCP discount! I go there especially for my kids. Ours closed, but I still drive to go to one! :flower: :goodvibes

Hey Jenny! Which limo company did you book? I have decided to avoid using a car rental b/c this Spring, Cali was a nightmare to drive in. I'm just going to arrange transfers and sit tight in Disney before the cruise! Also, you need to know that my DD18 is my SECOND to go to college. My oldest DD is going into senior year in college.........how scary is that??...... :goodvibes

look what was on Deb Wills' site this afternoon for today's activities:

2:30-3:30 p.m. Stem to Stern Wine Tasting

4:15 - 5:15 p.m. - Margarita and Tequila Tasting

WOW - two in one afternoon!
(while I'm eating my chicken enchilada Lean Cuisine - reading about
these tasting parties - that is just A LITTLE too much in one afternoon,
don't 'ya think?)

Jenny--

I would love to know your limo info--we are still trying to decide how to get there--car/shuttle/limo--so I would appreciate your input.

JoAnn--

They are probably doing both the wine tasting and margarita tasting to numb the pain of the last full day of the cruise :sad1:

The Margarita tasting does sound good to me :p Anybody wanna join me??

Liz

Maybe we should just agree to do the wine tasting early in the week and then finish up with the margarita testing at the end of the week!! :cool1:

Could you guys give me the deb website again, she's terrific! :Pinkbounc

here is the site:
http://www.allearsnet.com/cruise/dcl_west.shtml

Deb is giving so much information - i don't feel clueless anymore!
If there IS a wine tasting in the beginning of the week: Bob and Lucy
will partake??

Bob will definitely, definitely take part in the margarita tasting (I just
had a terrific idea - I'll SHOP while he drinks - and he'll never notice the
final bill!) :drinking1

JENNY - limo service, please?

Lucy :grouphug:

Sounds like I need to check my kids in the clubs for a LONG TIME that day!!! Wine and Margaritas.....my two favorites!!! :drinking1

As far as the limo, I was "misquoted", and it was still a good deal, but now they tell me today that they are "booked"!! I am so frustrated!! I was suppose to receive a call from the manager about the misquote prior to the call that they are booked. Makes me suspicious now. :rolleyes1

Guess I am back to square one now! :confused3 I'll keep you all informed....

So I guess DCL wants to actually have a ship of "drunken" fools. Yikes! What were they thinking there!!! All my favorites lumped into one activity. Better make sure that doesn't conflict with my spa times....tee hee.
