I hate saying stuff like that since so many of you are stuck up north in the frozen tundra.

Well fear not its freezing here in the hollow mountain but it is 65 outside and it will be in the 70's the rest of the week... Sorry :)

As I mentioned we got the bug and went to Mickey's very merry Christmas Party, I had fun even if it was renamed Mickey Technical difficulties party.

If it could go wrong it did the fireworks started with a lot of fanfare then 1 lone firework went off and then silence no music no fireworks nothing. But they made up for all the diehards willing to stay at Midnight they gave us a display to rival New Years Eve at Epcot about 15 minutes of non-stop flame with fireworks going up all over the park.

We made our $40 back with interest by taking all the left over cookies, let just say we have enough cookies to last us thru the winter. And we drank 34 gallons of hot chocolate.

We rode rides, and took pictures. We watched the parade twice and the second parade was cool we got to sit in the front and watch it all from about 2 feet away.

So I took some pictures for you guys, they are here

Thanks for posting the pictures. I wish I was going this year. I love the Christmas party.

I have a question, though. Where was the Christmas tree that looks like it's in the woods near the wooden fence?

Thanks.

I'm shivering up here in Cleveland [it was 8 early this moring], but now I'm shivering and smiling! Thanks again! .........goof

Thanks for the pics...

I'll miss going to MVMCP this year and enjoying my favorite cookies and hot chocolate!!!

Any limited edition pins this year?

There is one released each nite of the party..a total of 12, and this year they are all very nice...or you can buy a framed set w/ all the pins...I guess the only way to get all the pins, is to go the very last night, and hope that some of the pins are still available from the previous nights..but it was a lovely night, and I just LOVE the parade..

Thank you for the pictures Ed... It was nice to see you and Donna again.

Hi Ed and Donna,

thank you so much for the pictures.

I am always down there at this time for my birthday = but we are still sitting and waiting to hear if my hubby has a job or not.

So I have been cut off on my Disney trips for a while.

Thanks for the pictures, it was almost like being there, except we are a thousand miles away, and it is soooo cold and we have real snow and not that snow flake stuff you have.

Maybe I will be there next year - here is hoping.

Darlene

Thanks for the pictures! I didn't get to see the parade or shows when I went to MVMCP because for the first time ever it was rained out. :( I also learned that they aren't running the Christmas Parade during the day like they normally do. I just can't win.

Just got back from WDW today. We had tickets for MVMCP Thursday 12/12. We went this exact date 5 years ago, the only other time we've ever been to MVMCP. That year it rained off and on and the parade was rained out. Very disappointing. We had lined up, waited, waited and then the announcement. Then this year I waited until right before we left for WDW to get our MVMCP tickets. Checked the forecast first. No rain called for on Thursday. As of Tuesday, there still wasn't supposed to be rain on Thursday. Then the forecast changed. Just my luck. We got to MK at 4:00, went in and rode quite a few rides with no wait. Then about 6:00-ish it started raining. I was getting pretty depressed. It kept raining and raining, then pouring, then raining...and wouldn't stop. Then thunder and lightning. I stayed under a covered area in Tomorrowland with 3 YO dd for about 2 hours while DH and 8 YO dd rode Space Mountain over and over and over. Finally told Dh we were leaving. The parade had been canceled. The outdoor shows were also canceled (which was the majority of them...I think Diamond Horseshoe was the only indoor one?) So what was the point of staying? No snow on main street. I was so disappointed!! Everyone from that night will get their money back if requested. I'd rather have had the party! I guess I'm just not meant to go to one. The only saving grace was getting a MVMCP pin! But I was still upset. AT one point I sat there while dd slept in the stroller with tears running down my face. How pathetic am I?!

I know how you feel...the weather Thurs., was not only rainy but cold too...we had bad thunderstorms, and a tornado touched down in the area...

This is not usual weather for down here at this time of year, and us Floridians are having a hard time coping w/ it too...I guess we can all blame El Nino..they say our winter is going to like this..rain, cold, w/ the odd warm week or so, i guess they are getting even for us complaining that next year was too hot..

I sure hope you finally get to one, Tink129 and her son Dean, were also there that night, and left too when it got so bad, I think Disney will also refund their money..but like you, they would have rather had the Party..tonight is was very cold, but dry, and I think they had a pretty good attendence friends of ours were there, and they said that a lot people there, were returning from rain out nights..and no rain in the forcast for the week...you just never know..

good luck on the rest of your stay:D

Dizfamily,

Hopefully next time you come down around Christmas the weather will be better.
It must be a thursday thing. I went on the 5th and everything was rained out. (It was so bad that some stores even ran out of Mickey Ponchos. I never thought I'd see that.) My mom and I stayed until almost the end. We figured we paid the money we might as well stay. We also braved the rain and got all of our shopping done. It was very disapointing because I went to see the entertainment too.
I'm glad you guys got your money back. They were refusing to give anyone a refund or change the day of the event. Instead they gave us what were supposed to be one-day park hoppers, but are really one-day one park tickets.
Hopefully it won't rain this Thursday. If I get my final project done I'm going back.
