i feel really selfish doing this.
but could you all say a prayer for me tonight?
i'm in the hospital and after a month of pain,
i found out i've got cancer.
we came down to philadelphia and i got some tests done
and i just found out a couple hours ago.
the good news is,there's almost a 100% chance i'll live.
they caught this really early and the tumour is only 5cm.
and once i get chemo and surgery, the cancer will be wiped out for good.
the bad news is that iv'e got to have chemo every 2-3 weeks and the day after,i have to have an iv to keep me hydrated while i'm at home.
i'll probably lose my hair too.
i feel extremely selfish right now,but i can use all the help i can get.
thank you all so much.
sonya.
UPDATE
okay, let me rephrase this because when i wrote this,i was druged up in the hospital.
one of the doctors that is part of the team i am working with came to deliver us some news.
off of all the ct scans, mri's,bone scans, and x-rays,the tumour has not spread.
the first testing of the tumour from the biospy revealed the tumour had all the characteristics of osteosarcoma.
when the pathologist got to the harder part of the testing, the froze a piece and re tested it.
this piece was found to have too much cartilidge to be cancer.
there is a chance that the tumour is benign, and a chance it is malignant.
if it is benign,it is an extremely rare type of non-cancerous tumour.
if it is malignant,it is osteosarcoma with cartlidge in the tumour.not just bone.
this is what i understood from the doctor.
isn't confusing?
the doctors i'm working with are some of the best in the country,
and even they are baffled.
thank you guys for everything.
i would appreciate it if you kept praying.
after all, your prayers gave me a chance of not having cancer.
let's just hope i don't have it.
thank you guys for everything,it's just unbelieveable how you guys have helped me.
thank you!!!!(i don't think i'll ever stop saying thank you. : D)
