Hey Disney call me when you find yourself.

The problem I have with the new system is the Big Brother component. I don't like the tracking in real time. We have enough of that in our lives already. I don't like it. It's creepy.

I'd agree with you, but to be fair, Disney is not interested in following individuals. They have better things to think about. They are interested in trends, in popular areas, consumer preferences and that suff. More along the lines of a scatter map than a detailed report of your activities, I'm guessing.

I think it's unfair to say that FP+ is a total failure just because it doesn't work for your family. I've read many positive reports as well, not to mention that this system allows more people to enjoy the benefits of FP.

I'm surprised anyone has issues with Disney knowing where they are in the parks. I figure it's Disney's right to know where customers are when they're Disney's guests.

At the same time, outside of Disney, if you're worried (and you have a right to be) put the magic bands in a steel toolbox. :)

Yes, this is coming from the guy who doesn't want to give Disney a fingerprint... sorry... "biometric scan".

As to how tracking benefits the customer, consider that if Disney took proper advantage of it they could actually prepare the parks better, know what rides to put where, and know their crowds better. This can all result in a better experience for you!

JEmaryland, i'm curious how you found navigating the crowds? We're arriving in a couple of weeks, and all indications are that it's gonna be BUSY. But, like you said, ropedrop + Fastpass should minimize waits. I've noticed on a wdw lines app that wait times, even on a day like today, were very short in the morning, and then waits on the not-as-popular attractions were pretty reasonable. What gets to me is the massive crowds in the streets and trying to thread our party through them.
We were using a stroller and didn't find it too difficult to get through crowds. Only obvious tough areas were after parades and the max exodus at closing. Crowds weren't high during our week, however. 5's for Epcot and MK. Only a 1 at HS.
