Yes another just back and this JMO thread.
So is Disney going through a midlife crisis or something or did just some evil corporation take over Disney. You know like Disney only owns part of the company like Shanghai Disney? If not it felt that way. First you see Fantasyland and think Yes this is Disney then you look at Fastpass+ and say when did "big brother" enter the house? When asking the BOG CM "how will they know where I am sitting" and they look down at the Magic Band. C-R-E-E-P-Y. We kept laughing when we went outside the gates to eat that Disney knew what we were doing.
Since this is a forum to help people (or a venting board, I have yet to figure out which one now lol) I will give some tips we learned. Treat it like DL. Wake up early and be at the gate earlier than opening. Rope drop is a mad rush with lots of people, so if you are late like by 45 minutes you feel it coming in with the masses. If you are early like 8-8:30 you are much better off and ahead of the crowd. So ride hard and ride fast if accomplishing a lot of rides is important for you. If taking in the sites and smells is more important well arrive early as there also seems to lines for that as well.
Yes you feel the affects of FP+ and how it disperses people throughout the park. Save your fast passes for the evening of mid afternoon when crowded. DO NOT WORRY about the 4th or 5th fast pass. IT IS NEVER THE ONE YOU WANT or even need for that matter. We took a mid day swim or nap for a few hours than came back after 6 when things had settled. Look for late night park openings as we accomplish 2-3x as much after about 7 than we did all day combined. Now some of this is not news to people for those who always did this but in our prior trips we treated Disney like a resort with a theme park. So we took it slow and arrived late never worried too much but FP+ changed a bit of that for us.
We will be back but not until things have settled and Disney has found itself again or whenever that evil corporation feeling leaves and remembers what Disney was all about. No it was not the money for those of you who bought stock and feel the need to ramble on about shares and profits all the while knowing you only bought it because you fell in love with Disney first and not its stock options.
