If Canada wants more traffic in their gift shops up top of the pavilion, all they have to do is put a counter food service place up there that serves their cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread! Maybe salads, too.

Man, that place would be packed.

Actually, it's available for takeout from Le Cellier! :) Just go up to the check in counter and tell them you want to order soup and breadsticks to go. They'll package it, ring it up and give you plasticware to eat it with. It makes a lovely lagoon picnic during the colder months!

Oh, and my understanding is the soup and breadsticks are the only item available for takeout from Le Cellier...

Since I can't get a reservation in December, I'll do this instead. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

By the way, thanks.

One time I was there in December and they had a stand selling the soup in a bread bowl. Haven't seen it since, but I believe they do sell it outside during F&W.

I've very glad to hear about the "to go" option. I'm not planning on Le Cellier this trip but was sad about not being able to get the soup.

I'm almost glad I didn't know about the take-out option...my poor DH would have been making soup runs all of last week! :rolleyes1

that's some good soup!

On another note, is there any place in Canada that sells beer "to go?" my husband was looking for a canadian beer on our drinking around the world tour and we didn't come across anything

Canada would get some applause if it would bring back the Beaver Tails, too. :goodvibes

Wow! I did not know that! This is such a great idea...I will most definetly be doing this at some point during our December trip!:wave2:

Yes - the popcorn cart just across from where Off Kilter play has bottled Labatts, regular and lite and one other as well as a few canadian beers on tap.

Yeah for the soup to go tip :) TX

Can you take the beer out of the world? I know the wine is packaged to go but I've never heard of the beer to go.

You all need to come and visit us in Wisconsin, we have KILLER beer cheese soup up here. Frankly I wasn't that fussed about the stuff in Le Cellier, I've probably been spoiled. Now the pretzel bread, I would definitely go out of my way for that. Dipped in the cheese soup, YUM!!!!

I was thrilled that my local grocery store started baking pretzel bread in their bakery. It's in larger loafs so I like the breadsticks at Le Cellier better, but it's the best I can do until my next trip back to the World!!

Thanks so much for sharing about the take-out option - we'll be there in January and based on the weather, some hot soup might just hit the spot...

Cheers! On Wisconsin!

I love the idea for a counter service and honestly with the number of people who try to get resssies for Le Cellier and can not...that would probabaly be great. I also usually forget about Canadas gift shop up there too...Maple Syrup & Icewine

I don't believe the beer can be taken out...the little stands all open the bottles for you, and I haven't seen any shops in the WS that you can purchase 6 packs or the like.

I was more referring to a "to go" cup to walk around the world showcase with. They won't let you leave Epcot with an alcoholic drink even in a plastic cup...for obvious open container law reasons (still didn't stop my DH from trying...he actually had to drink a 20oz German beer rather quickly so we could make dinner in another park!)

So for those of you that have taken advantage of this "to go" option, how longish does it take from when you arrive to when you get your food? (Asking because it sounds like a great option, but I have two VERY impatient children if all we are doing is standing around for 30 minutes waiting for food for Mommy that they won't even be eating--so should I send them off somewhere else or is this a relatively short stop?)

I'll have to try the to go option! I never eat there because the soup & breadsticks are enough to fill me up, and I feel bad making a reservation for a $5 meal!

I wish they'd bring back the beavertails, too! They were the best pre-Illuminations snack!
