That's what I heard last night.
I take my daughter to TaeKwonDo. And have been for years(my older son also went so we are talking about 9 years of TaeKwonDo) There is a Dad that goes to pick up his son at the same time as I am there. We got to chatting over the years. Just regular stuff- kids, ect...We've known each other for a long time casually as "Hi hello" kind of chat.
Well last night I get a "Hey Babe" as I walk in. I was
and then thought I must not have heard it right.
As I was leaving with my daughter he says it again. Now again I am thinking I can't have heard what I just heard- but my daughter says "did he just call you Babe?"
I do not appreciate the level jumping that has just occured and no I am not his babe.
I usually wait in the car. I am going to go back to that practice.

I also find that construction workers and service personnel are big on "babe," and they don't mean it in an anti-feminist or demeaning way ... they just think you're cute.
Not being snarky, just thought I'd be more flattered then upset ~ and I love the suggestion of responding with "hot buns" or whatever a PP said
