Hey Anaheimers(and frequent visitors)

Last year when we went to D/L, I took I-10,60 to,91 to 57. There was construction going on,91 west to 57 south. Is that interchange done by chance? My DD is going in Sept.

That's the interchange I use to get to DL. I haven't noticed any construction lately, but I'm usually getting to it very early in the morning on weekends.

That's the route I'll be taking in a couple of weeks and was wondering the same thing. I'm concerned about traffic as we'll be hitting the 60 about 5PM and have a 6:40P ADR at Storytellers on a FRIDAY....think we're going to make it? It's USUALLY only a hour drive at that point, but I've never done it quite that close to rush hour traffic.

I'm from Tucson so we take the same route. When we went in May, I didn't notice much construction at all. (as opposed to last Oct. where we were stuck freaking forever at that interchange)

I avoid the 91 at all costs at all times. However, that being said, the traffic would really be going in the other direction at 5pm, and barring an accident, should be ok.

You can also stay on the 10, or the 60, to the 57 South. You would just have a little further to travel south on the 57. That time of day, the traffic is always bad at the 57/60 interchange where they share a freeway, then its good and should take 15 minutes or so from that interchange to the Ball exit.

I live off the 91 so I have to take it to get to the 57 and Disneyland if I don't want to take surface streets. I have driven that way several times lately and haven't noticed any construction. They are doing construction on my on and off ramps at nite which is obnoxious, but what won't affect you

ADOT does quite a bit of construction @ night. Cooler,less traffic.It's been about 103-107 most of the week here. Usually I take I-10 to I-8,8 to 805 north to 5 and then on up to Harbor,next stop a cold beer and D/L.

Maybe that construction was further east?

I guess if you like touring San Diego this would be the way to go?! Personally I'd rather sit in construction traffic for 15 minutes than drive 2 hours south and 2 hours north to get to the same place!
I'm not sure if this was a typo or joke but you definitely don't want to take the 8 or 805 to get to Disneyland from the 10. (unless you are coming from San Diego in the first place!)

You may be right. Coming from Tucson there is no "direct" route ,sad to say. I'll have to dig up my S.D. map.

OOHH O.K.I see where you're going with this. 805 parralells I-5,just further inland. It would be 'silly' to drive from I-8 cross over to I-10 then go back down to Anaheim.

Just back in Phoenix from DL this weekend and the answer is YES...there is STILL construction on the 60 to 91 interchange. We were at a dead crawl around 3:30pm on Friday for about 3 miles on the 60. We had directions from the AAA web-site, but their information for the current set up on that interchange was not current...and it most likely will be different when you go in Sept. Once we finally got on the 91...even though it looked bad from the interchange...by moving left immediately, we were back up to freeway speeds. I'd say it added about 20 minutes to the drive and was probably much worse an hour or so later in the afternoon.

Actually, you had it right, darph nader. I've driven to El Paso several times & passed through your city (in fact, I was there last weekend at a retreat at the University of Arizona - Stuebenville West - Unchanging!). The I-10 goes all the way to El Paso, going through both Phoenix & Tuscon. The I-8 goes from San Diego to the I-10 in Arizona, where you can either go to Tuscon or Phoenix (like the letter T). So, you could go from the I-10 north to the I-8 west to the 805 north to the I-5 north all the way to Disneyland.

I think that going the I-8 route adds about 20 miles to the trip (at least it does to my house), which really isn't much in the scheme of things - so I would add in -- do you want to ride up the coast & enjoy some ocean scenery, or would you rather just get there?

I usually drive I-10-W to 215-S/91-W to 5-S to get to Disneyland. I've never taken the I-10-W to 57-S, so I personally don't know which is faster. (We actually stopped at Disneyland on our way home from Phoenix one time.)

I've also taken the 10 to the 60 to the 91 -- and I don't like that route just because you go through the hills, and with all the curves on the road, it just seems to take a longer time (to me), so I prefer 10-91.

I live out in LA, very close to where the 91-405-110 freeways meet -- just to give a little perspective on where I am coming from.

I 'accidentaly' took the 10-91 route coming home once and though it 'felt' longer (and maybe that because I thought I was lost) it did skip thouse icky hills.

Thanks everyone.I'm a nervous wreck when it come to driving a 'strange' route.I'm so used to the 8-805-5 on up i can drive this 'blindfolded' (don't try this without your parents kids). I think i'll just stick to that route.I just "hate" the mnts.west of El Centro.
